The Glow in the Dark Big Chap Alien Xenomorph Mega Statue is available now from the Eaglemoss Shop. The new statue is exclusive to their shop. This is a 1/7 scale statue, and it stands 12.5″ tall atop a Nostromo interior themed base, featuring a Nostromo crew cap. It’s cast in metallic resin with a hand painted finish. This release is a variant of their previously released Big Chap Alien Mega Statue. It includes an all new glow in the dark paint paint deco. The statue is normally priced at $149.95, but is currently on sale for $127.46. The Glow in the Dark Big Chap Alien Statue is limited to just 200 pieces.
Eaglemoss has sent along a sample of the new statue. After the jump you can check out my thoughts on the release, as well as my gallery.

Overall
The glow in the dark Alien statue comes in a nice large windowless box. Each side of the box has a photo of the Alien statue. The sides also feature a bio for the Xenomorph. Inside the box, the statue is packed carefully in a dense foam clamshell tray. The statue is wrapped in tissue paper for a bit of extra protection. No assembly is required and the statue is ready for display as soon as it’s removed from the box. Also included is a certificate of authenticity and brochure on their other Alien and Predator collectibles.
Since this is a straight paint variant, I won’t talk too much about the sculpt. None of the sculpted details have changed. Here’s what I said in my review of the original Mega Alien Statue:
“For starters, the metallic resin they cast this statue in has great look to it. It’s also quite heavy, making it feel like a very high end collectible. The sculpt here is very sleek and nicely detailed, with different texturing techniques used throughout. It’s based more on the original promotional art, which is smoother looking and less texture than the costume from the film. While the main alien has an ever so fine texture to it, the dome is far smoother, while the base does a great job or portraying the metal grates of the Nostromo ship flooring.”
The main difference with this release is the new glow in the dark paint additions. In standard light, these appear as a very light colored, nearly pure white, green. These new applications appear throughout the figure, from the head sculpt, to the tail, to the torso and even the hands and feet. They are mainly used to highlight the raised areas of the sculpt. Even in standard light, it makes a cool looking variation. The paint they used has a great, and very strong glow effect. In the dark, the statue looks excellent, with the new deco still showing off a lot of the detail while glowing. I do wish some of those paint lines were a little more crisp tho.
I wasn’t sure what to expect when I initially opened this statue, but I can say it was a pleasant surprise with how well it turned out. They have been doing a nice job with the larger statue releases, and if you are a fan of glow in the dark collectibles, then this one is a worthwhile addition.
