Back in 2016, Mattel decided to stop their Matty Collector service and transferred the MOTUC and related lines to Super 7. They took over doing standard MOTUC and the Club Grayskull versions, which were the core characters redone with a cartoon look and feel. Wave 2 of Grayskull got revealed at Toy Fair 2017, with pre-orders going up in May of last year. Originally slated for an end-of-2017 release, they are finally here! Man-At-Arms, Teela, Tri-Klops and Hordak are all now shipping from Super 7. We have our set and have run them through their paces. Check out over 140 HD images of all 4 figures after the break!

Super 7 Masters of the Universe Classics Club Grayskull Wave 2 – Man-At-Arms, Teela, Tri-Klops and Hordak
Overall Thoughts:
NICE! I’ve been waiting for this for a while. I grabbed wave 1 from MattyCollector before it ended, and was super happy when Super 7 picked the line up. I dig MOTU, but I never went all in on MOTUC, just random besties. The toon line was a jump (back) in point for me, allowing me to get the core+ characters in a new style, one I prefer. The He-Man and Skeletor from this line are tops, epic display pieces. Wave 2 compliments them. He-Man finally gets some back up with Man-At-Arms and Teela, and Skeletor continues to swell his ranks with Tri-Klops and Hordak. Man-At-Arms and Tri-Klops are the winners here for me. Both exude that cartoon feel. Sculpting and paint are solid. The wave as a whole had some sloppy paint, but nothing return worthy. Hordak is well done, but I never had any real connection to him or that era of the line so I am not super hype on him.
Teela – hmm. Her prototype was perfect. But it was hand painted head to toe. Then closer-to-production versions popped out, and the face paint applications were just not right. They’ve tightened up since then, but it still isn’t as on-point as the prototype was. I think the biggest problem is her bare-plastic skin with very cartoony bright paint for the lips and eyes. It just doesn’t blend well. Paint would have been hard to match if they just left it on the head, and doing all exposed skin in paint would have been expensive and led to application issues. I am not 100% up on the ins and out of manufacturing, but some form of plastic smoothing, dulling, would have helped. I think they call it sandblasting the mold. Something so that when you hit it with direct light, you don’t get bright spots. If you achieve that, the paint on top usually blends better, and Teela would have been better of for it.
All in all though, it’s a solid round. Construction and plastic quality are on point, same as the previous round done by Matty. Articulation is all there, standard MOTUC style. Accessories are minimal but meaningful for all. Bottom line, it is worth a pick up, so grab yours from retailers or eBay as you can before they disappear.
