NECA’s Predator Clan Leader Throne, aka the Bone Throne, is finally available in stores. Pieced together from the skulls and bones numerous kills of the Clan Leader Predator, including an Alien Queen, Xenomorphs, humans and other creatures. This 14″ tall diorama element is cast in resin, with a few plastic elements. It’s scaled specifically for their Predator figures, but will work fine with other NECA releases, as well as additional 6″ to 9″ scale releases. This is a piece I’ve been looking forward to for over 2 years, as it was unveiled back in 2016 as a surprise addition to their Predator displays at toy shows and conventions.

Overall
The Predator Throne comes packaged in a large windowless box. The packaging features numerous photos of the throne with some of their Predator figures, as well as some details about the throne itself. Inside, the throne sits in a foam tray. The throne includes six Alien Queen fins than attach to the back of the chair (inside human skull eye sockets). The throne can easily be placed back in the foam and the box if you need to store it.
I was initially surprised by how large the box is. While I had previously seen the throne in photos, in-hand, this is a much larger collectible than I expected. There’s some excellent sculpt work throughout. It’s easy to pick out the different skulls being portrayed here, and the design comes together nicely as each skull works beautifully where they are placed. The Xenomorph arm rests and Alien Queen fin backing are especially cool looking. On the back of the throne, they even use an Alien Queen tail as the frame work of the chair backer. The other skulls and bone pieces are handled with the same care, making for a grotesque and impressive centerpiece for a Predator display. The paint work here is good, but the fully cleaned bones don’t call for much in the way of varied paint apps. NECA used numerous multi-color tan and brown washes to give everything an aged skeletal look to it. It looks like there’s a mix of airbrushing and hand painting throughout.
While I was surprised by the sheer scale of the throne, it was how heavy this collectible is that surprised me more. This is a solid resin piece that has a good heft to it. While this is likely what brought the cost to what it was, it is definitely worth it. Not once did this feel like it would tip over. It hardly moved at all as I was posing each figure sitting in the throne. Nothing about it felt fragile. That might not have been the case with a hollow plastic throne, especially if you tried to use the Clan Leader with his tendrils attached.
I had a blast putting the Predator Throne though the paces. It looks great with Predator and non-Predator figures alike (especially if you have the God of War Kratos Figure). If you have the shelf space for it, I would highly recommend seeking this out. Check out some select photos below and the full gallery after that.
