Mattel WWE Ultimate Edition HHH Gallery

It’s time to play the game, it’s time to play the gaaammmmeee… And it’s time to take a gallery look at the WWE Ultimate Edition Triple H figure from Mattel. Wrestling figures are something we cover passingly here – it’s a massive line spanning multiple eras and the team here doesn’t actively collect in depth. I do however pick up random figures, mostly from the Attitude era. We took at look at the defining moments Stone Cold a while back, and that gallery for whatever reason gets copied and reposted without credit constantly. We also did a gallery for the S.H. Figuarts WWE Figures, all from the Attitude Era. The Slim Jim Macho Man from last year was great. I have some more here, just for self, and so on. Select pops of awesome. I can’t go down the rabbit hole, next thing you know I’ll have a permanent ring setup with entrance ramp and jumbotron and a motion activated Stone Cold theme song every time I enter my office.

Today we are looking at the Mattel Ultimate HHH. This is their current most collectory collector figure line, with better sculpt, articulation, paint and accessories designed to be the “ultimate” version of the figure. HHH is hard, as he has a long career with different looks and themes, so getting it all in one package is difficult. But, this gets you 2 heads, one early and one mid career, along with a cap, sledgehammer, water bottle, chain mail throw over and of course a Big Eagle Attitude Era championship belt. It’s a solid solo HHH in-his-prime setup. Noticeably absent are anything DX, or specific to a crazy entrance at a big PPV. I smell repaint variants, and I will gladly take those, thanks.

These are being released 2 at a time, with 1 modern Superstar and one vintage per drop. The vintage ones so far are Ultimate Warrior, Brett Hart, and now HHH. Modern has been Ronda Rousey, Shinsuke Nakamura and Finn Balor. Wave 4 was recently revealed to be Shawn Michaels and Brock Lesnar. So that’s 2 of 5 for core DX. :) From a distance I think they are well done, but am personally only jumping in on Attitude specific Superstars.

Overall I was happy with HHH. I am not coming from being a hardcore Elite or Mattel WWE collector. Just a “retired” wrestling fan who enjoys an occasional trip down memory lane, and likes a small representation of that era on my shelves. As an action figure fan, the figure was well executed and you get a really solid HHH rep without breaking the bank. I would gladly welcome more like this from the era – Stone Cold, The Rock, Undertaker, Kane, and so on. Would also love a full DX initial line up, though I can see Road Dog, Mr. Ass and X-Pac being a harder sell. (SDCC 5 Pack cough). Stone Cold is a must, I want/need one with modern face paint tech, as defining moments is looking dated compared to this.

So, if you are looking to grab some wrestling figures without jumping into a huge back catalog – Ultimates seem contained as a line and well done right now, a perfect casual pick up. Check out HHH below for yourself, he and Finn Balor are out now along with the other 2 waves (here on Amazon).
