Marvel Heroic Hands by Toy Sapiens – Toyark Photo Shoot

Last month, we shared news on a line of Japanese exclusive Marvel collectibles coming from toy shop Toy Sapiens. The Heroic Hands feature life size replica hands of three of the most popular Marvel Comics heroes. Those include Deadpool, Spider-Man, and Iron Man. The 1/1 scale collectibles stand roughly 10″ tall each, and are cast in resin. They are priced at 15,000 Yen (about $144 USD) each, and have just been released. A wide array of color variants (as seen on the attached flyer) are available in Japan now.

Toy Sapiens reached out and sent over the first three collectible Heroic Hands to check out. After the jump, you can check out my photos and some quick impressions on the new Marvel items.

Overall
The Heroic Hands come packaged in windowless boxes featuring artwork for each specific character. The back of the packaging showcases all of the current color variants for each hand. The hands themselves are packed tightly in styrofoam, and there’s enough padding to prevent them from moving around in shipping. Minor assembly is required for Spider-Man and Deadpool hands.

The Heroic Hands are pretty cool looking in person. They do indeed to be just about life size. The sculpts go for a more comic appearance, with really smooth surfaces as opposed to the textured look of their live action counterparts. The paint is extremely glossy, especially on Iron Man which has a nice metallic look to it. Paint lines seemed clean, with no paint bleed that jumped out when looking at arms length. Deadpool and Spider-Man include attachable accessories. With Deadpool you get a very realistic looking Deadpool lollipop. With Spider-Man, you get a web shooting effect, which has a bit of McFarlane-like styling to it. Being cast in resin, they had more weight to them than I expected.

Overall, they’re very nice looking collectibles. They are definitely a niche item, and perhaps too niche to be an impulse buy. But I could see these going on a shelf dedicated specifically to Iron Man, Deadpool, or Spider-Man. Check out some pics below, and the full gallery after that.
