S.H. Figuarts Dragon Ball Premium Bandai Gallery Update - Jeice, Recoome, Kid Gohan, and Raditz! - The Toyark

Time for another round of S.H. Figuarts Dragonball galleries! I’ve been collecting this line since *almost* the beginning, and am still doing so here behind the scenes. I haven’t been updating with galleries immediately just due to timing and the fact it’s monthly or more now, rather than the 3 or 4 a year max from the early days. This year saw the line split between traditional retail and Premium Bandai (a sponsor here on Toyark too). The Premium Bandai figures have mostly been figures that fans a step above casual would be interested in. Today we are looking at 4 from the past year so far – Kid Gohan, Jeice and Recoome from the Ginyu Force, and Raditz. As a Dragonball fan and fan of the SHF line – these are all AWESOME. Didn’t think we’d ever see most of these, so I’m glad they are in the wild now.

Overall Thoughts:

Who would have thought back in 2010 that this line would still be going strong? Happy that it is. The shelves are getting tight though! The Ginyu Force is almost complete, just waiting on Burter and Guldo. I think it’s out in Japan, waiting on the US shipment to show up. And, looks like we are getting some additional Namek soldiers as well, Dodoria has been shown. All these come from Premium Bandai. They are a sponsor, but none of these were comped. Overall the process for ordering has been smooth, other than the shipment delay due to the crashed cargo ship which wasn’t their fault. Announce, order within window, wait, shows up. Wish everything was that simple. Let’s get to some specifics tho.

Jeice – Does the job. I am not too picky with the Ginyu Force. They can all hit their poses, and when done will stay there on the shelf. Mission accomplished. Only gripe with him – that flowing epic 90s hair – solid heavy plastic. Balance is an issue, and I don’t like using stands for normal poses.

Recoome – Same as above, without the hair issue. He is a big chunky figure, but still has articulation range. Expressions are great, they’ve all captured the animation well.

Kid Gohan – YES. I’ve wanted the kids for a while, and this shows it can be done, in scale with the rest of the line. He’s got a great range of movement, 2 iconic haircuts, and a good range of expressions. He pairs well with Goku or Piccolo and he can fill in a a Saiyan or Namek shelf.

Raditz – I dunno what this Yamcha is, but it sounds just like Raditz. The big guy finally got made, Dragonball Z’s first bad guy. He was quick to go, but his legacy for being a weakling lives on to this day. I am personally fine with that, he fills in the Saiyan Saga nook well along with Nappa and Vegeta. Unlike Jeice, this guy’s massive hair is supported by the bulky frame. A great addition, thanks to Tamashii Nations for getting it done!

Bottom line – all great roster figures here. Worthy of pick ups if you are focusing on a Saga or going a bit deeper in your collection. Check the shots below!
