Star Wars Mando Maina Promo Mailer - Overview and Some Shots of the Figs! - The Toyark

The Mandalorian season 3 is in full swing right now, and Hasbro sent through a promotional mailer full of Star Wars goodies. These usually go out to press and fan sites alike, so they feature a mix of collector and kiddo level stuff with the intent to get some attention to the various product that is out, or will be soon. We’ve taken some shots of the mailer itself, and then did a couple fun shots for some of the product inside.

Below is a list of what was inside, along with some quick thoughts for the ones I cracked and messed around with.

The Black Series The Mandalorian (Reissue / 2023 Version)

While technically a new run of the original Beskar Mando, a big difference is the helmet. The original wasn’t quite right, and since then in the various new releases they’ve fixed that. Now that original version has a solid helmet. Otherwise seems the same. I actually had that V1 out on display as my primary Mando until now, so he’s officially swapped!

The Black Series Dark Trooper

One of them was in the mailer, but I had two more (maybe even 2 more after that, I can’t find them tho) ready to go so I cracked 3. Very sharp fig, great articulation so you can get all those weird robo poses. Staying out in my Mando corner now.

The Black Series Amazon Mando/Grogu/Ahsoka 3 Pack (link, #ad)

This was not in the promotional mailer, but again bought it and hadn’t opened it yet – so cracked it now. While pricey, Mando and Ahsoka are both refined from previous releases. Mando is pure beskar and clean. Only thing I don’t dig is that royal blue knee guard. Also comes with the spear. Ahsoka’s face lines and paint are sharp, plus the cloak is great. Grogu in a different pose without the ball joint arms. Works. Idea – how about 5 posed out Grogus in this scale in one box, just a head joint, retail price?

The Vintage Collection Nevarro Cantina

TVC isn’t my thing, but this is a cool set. Accessories are TINY but cool. It even had some in-scale shot glasses – WIN. Only thing I would have liked is a bit more weathering on the walls, too clean. Paz and Grogu both technically can’t drink (for different reasons) so they are confused AF in that bar shot. :) What I’d really like – Black Series scale OUTSIDE version of this, or similar. Nevarro city streets, building fronts. To layer a shelf-back with and then pose guys in front of. And of course, rock it for some photography.

The Vintage Collection Paz Vizsla

Great figure, even if not my preferred scale. Articulation on point, can hold the rifle, paint is top notch. Effects for the jetpack and nozzle. TVC has some heat lately, really sharp figs coming out in that scale.

The Black Series Role Play – Bo-Katan Kryze Helmet

Well done piece. Paint is matte, so it displays well with no gloss. Rangefinder flips down, and lights up when done, two alternating red lights, and the finder itself glows white. If I had room for a helmet line up, would be happy with this one. I may have to find space for the Re-Armored Boba and Mando ones at some point tho.

The Black Series ForceFX Elite – Darksaber

VERY COOL. Aside from price or what aftermarket folks can do, I enjoyed this. The hilt is metal and HEAVY. Feels significant. Battery is built in, charges via cord. Requires some unscrewing to get the blade inserted. Lights are a nice blueish white, and pop well when in darker environments. It’s a great display piece, especially in hilt mode.

All in all if you are a fan of Star Wars there are some good pieces out there, regardless if you’re a Jedi Master or a Padawan. Most of these should be available at your preferred retail outlet now, so hit the racks and snag em if you dig em!
