Limited Run Games, known mainly for creating physical releases for video games that would generally only see a digital release, has announced their editions for the new Contra video game. The upcoming game is being produced by WayForward, known for their excellent revivals of classic franchises, as well as numerous other 2D games. Contra: Operation Galuga takes the franchise back to its classic 2D side scrolling roots, but with more detailed visuals and a new soundtrack. It will be released for the PlayStation, Xbox, and Switch platforms. Limited Run Games will be offering a few different physical releases for the game.
Action Figure collectors will want to take note of the Contra: Operation Galuga Ultimate Edition. New figures of Bill Rizer and Lance Bean will be included with that release. The figures will each include their own weapons. No details were shared about the scale of the figures, or who is producing them. These aren’t the first Contra figures, as NECA produced a 2-pack for their Video Game Appearance line back in 2016. The Ultimate Editions will also include a CD Soundtrack, pins, dog tags, an art book, a steel book case, a retro NES style box and sleeve, stickers, a poster, and a patch.
