In the 1980’s, horror filmmakers completely reinvented the werewolf movie. Movies started to trade in the traditional “hairy man” werewolf popularized by Universal and Hammer, with a new breed of werewolf movie. These films saw complex animatronics, puppetry, heavy prosthetics, violent transformations, and larger than life costumes that brought terror back into the horror sub-genre. 1981 in particular saw two wildly different takes on the werewolf with An American Werewolf in London, and The Howling. The former has been getting some excellent action figures from NECA, with the latter finally seeing a proper action figure from Syndicate Collectibles.
Pre-orders are now live for The Howling – Werewolf 1/12 Scale Figure from Syndicate Collectibles. While not specifically mentioned in the description, this werewolf figure is likely based on the character of Eddie Quist from the film. In the movie, Quist is a serial killer who is secretly a werewolf, and not the only one. The figure will stand at 7.25″ tall, with 34 points of articulation.
