Funko’s ReAction Figure line is now in full swing. The newest releases are The Terminator ReAction Figures. This series of retro Kenner styled 3.75″ figures features the main cast of the first Terminator film. There are two versions of the cyborg Terminator, two versions of the T-800 Endoskeleton and two human figures. The full line-up looks like this:

Overall
I’ve been looking forward to these since they were announced. I’m an admitted fan of the retro Kenner style figure lines. They’re goofy, retro, and hilariously terrible in the best possible way. They have five points of articulation, the sculpts are smooth and shiny and there’s not much to them. The figures, though, do sport some nice detail nods to their film counterparts. The T-800 Endoskeleton is actually a beautifully detailed figure. Kyle Reese sports a cloth, removable, trench coat and bandages. The Tech Noir T-800 has sculpted spikes on his back. So, even though they’re retro, they still sport a few nice, identifiable, details. The packaging is perfect and makes for a great sealed display piece.
On the downside, the lack of likeness rights for Sarah Connor (Linda Hamilton) and Kyle Reese (Michael Beihn) means all the cards will sport Arnold, and thus will look monotonous when displayed together. The T-800 Endoskeleton and Sarah don’t come with any accessories, and the T-800 Endoskeleton cannot hold weapons.
Other than those minor problems, I love these figures. They look inherently “80’s”, which is perfect for me.
