Sin City Minimates Photo Shoot and Review

Today we have a full gallery of Diamond Select Toys‘ first series of Sin City Minimates. The box set, which contains four characters from the first Sin City film, is the first of multiple upcoming sets. The Sin City Movie Minimates – That Yellow Bastard Box Set contains:

Diamond Select toys was kind enough to send along their first wave for us to review. There should be no surprise that DST’s Sin City Minimates turned out so well. If you’re familiar with the figure style, you know what to expect. you get 2″ tall figures with a ton of articulation, interchangeable parts and character specific accessories. With the sin City Minimates, I’m looking for, mainly, strong character likeness. With this set, all four characters turned out as expected. Hartigan and Yellow Bastard, especially, look fantastic.

Hartigan includes his trench coat and pistol, Nancy includes two guns and a lasso, Roark includes a pistol and Yellow Bastard has a knife and a whip. I was glad that they decided to keep these black and white, save for Yellow Bastard, who appears that way in the film. Each also includes a Minimates figure stand, which is much appreciated and comes in handy when doing dynamic poses. the only real negative I had was Hartigan’ trench coat, which prevents some poses and hinderd his legs a bit, and Nancy’s hair, which prevents her from turning her head at all. Other than these minor quibbles, this is a spot on set.

Keep an eye out for Sin City Minimates Series 2, which hits in December and includes fan favorite Marv.
