DC Collectibles Thrasher Armor Batman Photo Shoot

By Tony_Bacala on January 15, 2015 at 2:23 pm under DC Toy News, Random Photo Shoot

The Toyark is running catch up today with a figure out in limited quantities late last year, Thrasher Armor Batman from the Capullo Designer Series. He’s now getting a wider release, we have our copy, and he’s awesome. He first showed up almost a year ago at Toy Fair 2014, and ever since then I’ve been itching for him. I’m a fan of Batman and Transformers, robits and mechs in general, so mashing the two up in a big ass Batmech is almost too good. This armor comes from the Court of the Owls story arc where a team of Talon‘s got into the Batcave, so Batman jumps in this bad boy and goes to town. Check out over 50 photos of the Thrasher Armor along with our thoughts after the break courtesy of site sponsor Entertainment Earth!

DC Collectibles Greg Capullo Designer Series Thrasher Batman

Pros
Big
Sculpt is intricate
Paint is well done, capturing a metallic gritty look
Articulated multi-joint fingers
Maskless Bruce Wayne head under helmet

Cons
Articulation is good, but a bit weird

Overall
Overall, awesome. A big hulking mecha Batman, I can’t ask for anything else. The sculpt really shines with lots of cuts, grooves and details. Paint then matches that with lots of black and gray tones to bring them out. He looks like raw metal just sitting there. The articulation is good but weird in some spots. His legs have limited/no forward-backward movement, just outward. But he does have double jointed knees, limited rocker ankles, and spinners at the calf. So you can do some poses, just not as you are used to without the forward movement. Arms are similar, joint at elbow and spinners, plus limited wrist joint flex, but the suit keeps him from really moving the fist around. However, there are articulated fingers with multiple joints per finger, and they all move well without fear of breaking, all while weather painted. Waist spins and abs flex front and back. Really good, but as I said, just a bit odd with those limiting areas. This guy is a definite pick up now that he’s hit a second round of retail releases, so pick him up if you see him. Check some key shots below, the rest after that!
