In Pacific Rim, the assorted Kaiju cross over from a breach, which bridges their world with Earth. In the climactic battle, a heavily damaged Gipsy Danger uses a Kaiju carcass to enter the breach, giving him time to destroy the Kaiju production facility in their dimension, which is known as the Anteverse. NECA commemorates this scene with a Toys “R” Us Exclusive repaint of their Reactor Blast Gipsy Danger 7″ Figure.

Overall
The Pacific Rim line by NECA has been on of their best, and best selling, lines over the past few years. The unique Jaeger designs mixed with large scale, impressive Kaiju has struck a chord with fans and the line shows no sign of stopping! That has allowed NECA to offer varied and unique versions of the characters, especially in this case. Fans could have been content with just the Reactor Blast Gipsy Danger, but the Anteverse version allows them to have a uniquely colored figure that mirrors the bright colors reflected off of Gipsy Danger while inside the Anteverse.
This is a battle damaged figure that resembles the state of Gipsy Danger at the end of the film. So the figure is missing a right arm and has different battle damage pieces throughout. Anteverse Gispy Danger is created using the second version Gipsy Danger figure NECA created. This figure offered more articulation than the previous release. Even for a one-armed figure, this figure offers up some great articulation. The legs and feet have an especially large range of movement, allowing for dynamic kneeling, fighting and crouching poses.
The real star this round is the paint scheme. The base color is similar to the previously released Gipsy Danger, but has an overlay of purple to reflect the colors of the Anteverse. Around the reactor you have warmer colors that calls back to the film when the reactor core is detonated. The colors really pop and I was surprised at how vibrant they were.
I only wish that there was a swappable, undamaged, right arm. The colors looks so good that it would make a great undamaged figure. But it does accurately reflect the film, and undamaged versions are out there, so it’s a minor thing. Bottom line is this is a nicely articulated figure with a great color scheme. Fans who only want one battle damaged version will have their choice between Reactor Blast and Anteverse versions.
