It’s been a long road for the independent comic and toy line Armarauders from Mecha Workshop. They’ve created something original from scratch and brought it into digital, print and now physical reality – a true feat in today’s collectible market. We’ve tried to keep you up to date with the project over time, from their first announcement to their figure preview earlier this year. Today we have in hand the final retail release of the first Armaraders mech, the Bellerophon.
He keeps all the magnificence of the prototype we handled in February along with fine tuning to joints and alignment to make it damn near perfect. This is not some one off quasi-cutom piece – this is the real deal, a high end collectible top to bottom. Quality of the figure is top notch as we said before, but what really blew us away this round – the packaging. It’s huge, sturdy, and features artwork from the comics big enough for a shelf wide backdrop. It feels expensive – which is a good thing. You’ve bought something worth it’s price. Hopefully if the line continues well into the future one can look back at this piece as being the alpha grail.
For more details on the figure, company, and comic I suggest you check our earlier article with near 100 pics and an interview with producer Valent Wang. Once you’ve done that, head on into this story and check out almost 100 more pics of the final product.
He is in stock or shipping now, and you can grab your pieces at our sponsors: TFSource, Big Bad Toy Store, Hobby Link Japan.
If you have the means and dig the figure, we highly recommend supporting the line now while it’s young. It will help ensure more pieces and it’s continued development. But you gotta dig it, so check the pics and decide for yourself after the break!
