Today we are taking a look at Star Wars The Last Jedi Black Series Supreme Leader Snoke with Throne. This was a Gamestop exclusive in the States and has started shipping. He’s one of many store exclusives to drop for The Last Jedi and will work in conjunction with the Wal-Mart Kylo Ren Throne Room set, the base from Kylo’s set will connect to this throne. All in all the set is cool, but the softgoods are an issue again. Not horrible, but not “it”. There are some good points including paint and articulation, which we will discuss after the break. Also of note, this is the 1000th full gallery here on Toyark! When we share out on social many times folks only see 1 or 2 pics of any given figure. But we always do anywhere from 20 to 100 pics, sometimes more if it’s a big set or a full wave. We like to show off the figure from all angles, it’s weapons, close ups, and fine details. Star Wars Black Series The Last Jedi Supreme Leader Snoke with Throne (Gamestop Exclusive)
Snoke is tall, about 7 inches compared to Kylo Ren’s 6.25 inch height. He features some pretty good articulation with full range double jointed knees and elbows, upper thigh twists, 45 degrees in both directions on the wrists with a twist and slight rockers on the ankles. Paint is well done on the face producing a layered scarred skintone with darker spots specifically on the damaged areas. He even has his mysterious raised ring.
The robe, it’s softgoods so… it looks like a bathrobe, not a regal outfit. From a distance, all this looks fine but up close it’s really cheeky. It does have some bling woven in, but it gets lost in the texture. Sitting, it does rest well and looks somewhat natural. I haven’t really found a softgood I like at this scale, on any line or any figure, but going full plastic would have killed the sitting angle completely. So pick your poison. One good angle is the way they handled the collar, they put a piece of plastic around the neck and then glued the robe to it to ensure it he kept his collar popped. That’s good for display purposes right out the box, but if you want to swap out the robe you’ll probably need to mess this one up to get it off the figure.
The throne itself is nice. It’s a solid block, but sharply sculpted with some paint accents. Snoke fits perfectly in it, his range of articulation allows for sitting naturally with the legs going back inward from the knee and the feet resting flat. His hands are able to point downward on the armrests.
All in all when all together, in throne sitting mode, and from a distance, this is a great piece. Surrounding him with TLJ First Order Troopers, Guards, Kylo etc makes a great little nook on the shelf. He’ll be releasing without the throne in standard format later this year.
