God of War is one of my favorite games ever, and today is a real treat because we are going to look at NECA’s God of War 2018 (4) Kratos. Sony has been teasing this since 2016 and it’s getting close to go time (hopefully) for the first GoW title on PS4. NECA got right on the ball with their prototype for the new game, and it’s actually dropped BEFORE the game comes out. Usually I get hyped for figures after I see them in action, but it’s the other way around this time. Running this figure through the paces has gotten me even MORE hype for the game!
All in all this is a stunning piece of work. Sculpt is on point head to toe. All his gear and clothing have details down to the stitching. His beard actually looks like a beard, well done. Paint work is 10 of 10, every square inch of this thing has multi-dimensional application. There are gradients and washes and layers everywhere. Even the weapons have multiple rounds applied.
I was excited before I got it in hand, and am even more impressed now. Read on to check out some additional thoughts and over 80 HD images of him from every angle, including a round in the snow!

Overall Thoughts:
So as I mentioned above, superb figure. There are only a couple ways I would enhance this, and I’m sure NECA thought about them and made a decision to do otherwise for a reason. He has no ab-crunch, so that would have been nice for hulking poses. The ball-joint at the waist gives you a good range, but an abby would have been better. Multiple hands – usually I don’t care, but a set of weapon holding, and then closed fist would have been good. Right now, you get one of each. If you wanna pose him bad ass ready for a fight style, he’s got a hole in one hand and it’s not as epic as some clenched fists. Finally, the yell face. This head is perfect, but he’s a bit relaxed. Would’ve been nice to get that screaming face from the trailer.
Those points aside, I really can’t say more. It’s a great figure that I had a blast with shooting. No brainer pick up!
