We have just received our answers for the 3rd round of Hasbro 2010 GI Joe Q&A for July. We’ve got some interesting answers for this round.
The following are the questions and answers for July:
1) What is going on with the Snow-cat/Wolfhound deco? We’re now seeing released versions with black marbleized chassis but pure white missile launchers. Why isn’t the whole vehicle either marbleized or pure white? Isn’t /Hasbro worried about releasing a vehicle which looks so differently from it’s box art? Is there any hope of a running change that will get us a pure white Wolf-hound?
A) The team received direction from G.I. Joe command to push the Wolf-Hound into the “Next Gen” future “Pursuit of Cobra” universe. The designers who worked on this item were experimenting with the marbleizing technique as a way to create a camoflague pattern across the vehicle. Like many POC items, the Wolf Hound is an homage to the original vehicle but with some modern updates. There are no plans to release an all-white version at this time.
2) Will GI Joe: Renegades take over for the Pursuit line? OR will both Pursuit and Renegade be on retail shelves in tandem for 2011?
A) We are very excited by the new “G.I. Joe: Renegades” entertainment and the opportunities it presents. Please check back in future rounds of the Q+A for more detailed information.
3) With the futuristic aesthetic of the GI Joe Pursuit Of Cobra line, there is one character who seems like he would fit right in, but is currently absent from the line; Sci Fi! Was he ever taken into consideration for the Pursuit Of Cobra lineup?
A) Sci Fi comes up in discussion periodically and is always considered. We don’t currently have plans for Sci Fi in the Pursuit of Cobra line.
