The ships from the classic 16-Bit shooter series, Thunder Force, will be getting the Figma treatment by Good Smile Company. The game series has made appearances on a number of platforms, such at assorted 80’s computers, the arcades, Sega Genesis, Super Nintendo and even the PlayStation 2 and Sega Saturn. While it appeared on those assorted systems, it is most widely remembered as part of the Sega line up, especially during the Genesis days. Thunder Force is a futuristic side scrolling shoot ’em up, where you control one of the FIRE LEO ships.
Good Smile Company is releasing a Figma set featuring FIRE LEO-03 “STYX” from Thunder Force III and FIRE LEO-04 “RYNEX” from Thunder Force IV. Each ship measures about 4.7″ in length. They include a stand and optional weapons parts, which include their own stands to be displayed separately. The set is scheduled for release in February 2019. It’s priced at 11,582 Yen (about $103 USD).
