Figma Galaxian and Galaga Ships by Good Smile Company

Good Smile Company has posted product pages for ships based on Galaxian and Galaga, two classic Namco video games. Galaxian, released in 1979 in the arcades, was a fixed screen shooter similar to Space Invaders. Namco followed up the success of Galaxian with an arcade sequel in 1981 titled Galaga. The sequel added additional gameplay elements, such as enemies capturing your ship, and the player being able to rescue the ship, and have it fight alongside you.

The new ships by Good Smile Company are based on the player controlled fighters; the Galaxip and the Galaga. They utilize the Figma system for attaching accessories. The standard release includes the Galaxip and Galaga fighters. The DX version includes the Galaxip and an additional Galaga ship, allowing fans to recreate the dual-fighter mode from the game. these are due for release in September 2020. – The ships have been brought to life by mechanical designer Kanetake Ebikawa, who has revised the designs of the ships to be brought into figure form. They’ve been recreated based on the original pixel illustrations from the game with various details added in based on the revised designs.
– figma joints are utilised for attaching effect parts to the ships.
– An articulated figma stand is included.
– Connectable joints are included on the wings of the Galaga Fighter, allowing you to dock two ships together and recreate Dual Fighter Mode.*
