Dead by Daylight – The Wraith 1/6 Scale Statue by Gecco – Toyark Photo Shoot

Dead by Daylight is an asymmetrical online horror video game for five players at a time. It was released in 2016, and is available for both modern consoles, PC’s, and mobile devices. In the game, one player is assigned the role of classic style slasher, while the remaining four must escape the map and avoid being killed. The game is similar in vein to the Friday the 13th video game. After release, additional horror icons and related maps were made available as paid DLC. Those include Freddy Krueger, Michael Myers, Leatherface, Jigsaw, Ash from Ash vs Evil Dead, and even a newer map based on Stranger Things.

Gecco is producing a line of 1/6 scale statues based on the game. Their first release is based on The Wraith. The statue stands about 14″ tall with a diorama base. The right hand holds the “Azarov’s Skull” weapon. The left hand has a magnet, which allows it to hold the “Wailing Bell” skull without the need to swap out hands. The eyes feature light up LED’s that can be changed from white to red. It’s priced at $359.99. Check out the Gecco Product Page for official details.

Overall
Like all of Gecco’s statues, The Wraith is packed in a collector friendly box. The statue and its assorted parts sit in a plastic clamshell inside the box. The statue can easily be taken apart and put back for storage or movie. The box features artwork from the video game, as well as details on the story and statue. A collector card is also included.

Gecco has always done a great job with making their sculpts detailed, and accurate to the games or licenses they are based on. The Wraith is no different. The sculpt is extremely detailed, with some great texture work on the patchwork costume the killer wears. The Wraith looks pretty much dead on to the game version. Paint work is equally exceptional, with heavy dark paint washes to give the statue a dirt covered look. There’s some really nice transitional paint work on areas like the arms, and the blood soaked feet. The painter also mixed in some great glossy blood splatters throughout. The head sculpt features LED eyes. you can turn them on by removing the head, where you’ll find a switch hidden inside the neck. You can switch the LED’s from red to white. Batteries were included, and the eyes were pretty bright. The batteries did start to die out quickly, so I’d recommend getting a fresh set if you plan on leaving the lights on for extended periods.

The Azarov’s Skull” weapon fits into the right hand by using a small peg that plugs into the palm. The left arm can be swapped out for one holding the “Wailing Bell” skull. That skull is held into the hand with magnets, and it works well. The arm swaps out fairly easily, and snaps in tightly. The statue is cast in a mix of PVC and ABS plastics, and feels fairly light weight, like most Gecco releases. However, nothing feels brittle or fragile. I had no breakage issues.

This is another really solid release from Gecco. If you’re a fan of the game, then this is a worthwhile purchase. It’s great design will fit in with most horror displays as well. Check out a selection of photos below. After that, you can find the full gallery.
