Back in the 80’s, there was a fun, though somewhat niche, toy line known as Manglors from IDEAL Toys. The line consisted of a number of creatures and characters that were made of a rubbery material. The idea behind the line is that you could tear the limbs off each of the characters and swap them to create your own monsters. A novel idea that never quite worked, especially when tackiness of the rubbery material wore off. However, the toy line left a lasting impression which had its own cult following through the years, as all classic toy lines tend to have.
Now Toyfinity, who revived other IDEAL lines such as the Mordles, Zeroids, and Robo Force, has launched their revival of the Manglors toy line. The new line consists of three new 4.25″ tall figures, a new accessory set, and new Manglor eggs. The new figures are Manglord, Manglosaurian Warrior DX, and a Primitive Manglor. The new Manglors evoke the spirit of the original line, paying homage to the original characters, all while creating a new series of highly detailed sculpts. Each figure includes their own interchangeable parts and pieces. The figure prices vary between $20 – $34, as the accessories and parts they come with vary between releases.
Like their previous releases, the Manglors are Glyos compatible. Not only does this fully realize the swap out aspect of the original, it also means you can swap parts from a number of other toy lines. For those that aren’t familiar, Glyos compatible releases use a uniform peg system across multiple toy lines, allowing for seamless interchangeable play between figures.
