It’s that time again! SDCC 2024 is next week and Bandai Tamashii Nations have graced us with early copies of the upcoming exclusives. S.H. Figuarts Dragon Ball items include two repaints of previously released figures (Future Trunks and Final Jiren), plus a new Goku and Gohan set featuring a mix of new and old parts. In addition, Naruto gets an offering with Narutop99 Kakashi Hatake and S.H. MonsterArts gets an event exclusive version of Godzilla 1989. We’ll be taking a look at the non-Dragon Ball pieces later in the week.
Details for grabbing these items at the show are below:
- Tickets – All three Dragon Ball figures will require tickets to purchase at the TAMASHII NATIONS Booth 3329.
- Ticket Distribution – Like in previous years, tickets will be available at the Dragon Ball outdoor activation located at the Marina Terrace | Mariott Marquis. Here is a link with detailed information. It also includes purchase limits.
- Non-Dragon Ball Exclusives – Neither SHF Kakashi or SHMA Godzilla require tickets. Attendees can walk right up to the booth to purchase either or both of these figures without a ticket. Also, Godzilla will be available at both the TAMASHII NATIONS Booth 3329 and our GODZILLA Booth 3345, which is right next to it.

Let’s get the obligitory box shots out of the way. They’re pretty. All 3 stay in line with the design style used on exclusives for the last several years. I said the same exact thing last year, and it holds this year too :).

S.H.Figuarts SON GOKU & SON GOHAN -KID- & KINTOUN -Exclusive Edition-
I dig it! Last year we got Cell saga father and son, plus a mostly static tike Gohan paired with Nappa. This year keeps the duo together and gives us a better tike Gohan. It’s a perfect representation of early Dragon Ball Z. Goku is also rocking the Turtle gi, which oddly was not present in all this time up till now (I had to go back and check). Combine that with some anime inspired faces, wind swept hair, and a nice matte pain job, it’s a winner. Both of these are going out in the Saiyan Saga nook ASAP.

S.H.Figuarts FUTURE TRUNKS -SUPER SAIYAN- -Exclusive Edition-
This is one of my fav Super era figures. It’s well done for what it is, that being a special edition. You don’t need it, but if you get a hold of one it adds some flavor to the shelf. The clear hair is great. This version doesn’t come with the non-Saiyan head/faces, nor the giant sword (shot below using it is from the original release). You get a couple more Saiyan faces and straight on eyes not present in the original.

S.H.Figuarts JIREN -FINAL BATTLE- -Exclusive Edition-
Another sharp “cool if you get it” piece to add flair to a S.H. Figuarts DB line up. The red on the pants pops, sparkly. The pearlescent sheen on the skin is there but not dominant. Overall a great way to represent being right in the middle of “Powered Up” mode. Hopefully they do something similar for Ultra Instinct Goku to pair up later on.

SDCC 2024 Wrap Up
All in all solid, the Goku / Gohan set is tops, both are going out on shelf as primary reps. The shiny offerings are good convention exclusives – not required for casual or even thorough core collectors, but cool if you like to add some uniqueness to your line up.
