Double Dragon – Billy, Jimmy, and Willy Pre-Orders Live from Syndicate Collectibles

When it was released in 1987, the Double Dragon arcade game became a massive hit. The game took the simple side-scrolling beat ’em up format, and added more complex fighting techniques that hadn’t really been seen before. The game followed twin brothers Billy and Jimmy Lee, battling their way through a grimy gang ruled city to rescue Billy’s girlfriend Marian. At the start of the game, Marian is taken by the Black Warriors gang (also known as the Black Shadow Warriors, or just Shadow Warriors in some games). When Billy and Jimmy hear the commotion outside, they exit their garage and begin their 4-mission journey through the slums, a construction site, a forest, and ultimately the gang’s hideout to face the machine gun-wielding Willy. The game spawned two additional arcade sequels, and dozens of home ports that would lead to a number of their own sequels, a Battletoads crossover, comics, an animated series, and a (truly awful) live-action movie.

A trio of 7″ scale action figures based on the original Double Dragon are now available to pre-order from Syndicate Collectibles. The assortment includes Billy and Jimmy Lee, as well as Willy. Billy and Jimmy each include multiple interchangeable hands, a baseball bat, a stick of dynamite, knives, and a barrel. Willy includes a few interchangeable hands, and his machine gun.
