Anyone think that thread covers way too much? I didn't mind at first, but just today I saw someone post a deal in there that could, and should have been placed in the deals thread. Of course, being an all inclusive appreciation thread, it's technically appropriate.

I just feel like there are way too many conversations going on in there and most of it should have it's own thread. I'm posting this little rant here because my intended audience are marvel posters.

Isn't the point of multiple threads so that you can read about what interests you rather than try to filter through every post? At the speed that thread moves, it's quite the chore.

This Catch all thread was created to try and separate all of the "other" stuff from the "appreciation" stuff. It was basically the same thread and people didn't want to have to post in 2 or 3 separate threads the same stuff. It ended up just dying. Think it's on page 5 or 6 now.

What is the difference between that catch all thread and the current appreciation thread? From my brief scanning of it, they both have the same types of posts/subject matter.

It's a good place to go to share your love for the Toy Ark community... over and over and over and over..

and over again.

Every once in a while there's a few relevant posts though, so that's nice.

LMAO.

if the OP doesn't dig ToyArk's Marvel 3.75" thread (only the most popular thread on this site, bar none) can you imagine if he took a dive into HissTank's Marvel Universe thread!!!??

Well what sparked this thread is that I saw a recent TRU deal posted in the appreciation thread instead of the Deals/Coupons/In Stock thread. That tells me that there is no point to having any threads in this whole marvel section except for the appreciation thread. It should not be this way.

What *I* want, because you've asked, is that the appreciation thread be for showing off customs and your collections. What *I* do not want is to have to check that thread for current in-store deals.

You're right. The TRU stock heads up should have been in both threads.

A lot of people put the same message that may span multiple topics in multiple threads.

That's why we all go there. It's so much easier that way. I'm too lazy for too much clicking.

Also, idk why, maybe it's just the way this site is set up, but whenever I leave the thread/computer, come back and click on last page, it always takes me to the page I was last on. It's great.

I hope no one messes with the MU appreciation thread. Its the only one where EVERYONE here gets involved. All it takes it one person to ruin it for the rest of us. Thats how the catch all thread was born. The funny thing though is that we turned it into a clone of the original.

I see the points about clicking less threads. I suppose an all inclusive thread works if you're into everything related to 3.75 MU figures. Just can't believe I'm not the only one not into 4 for $20 deals or customs. Not that I don't appreciate MU fans helping other fans out or the hard work that goes into customs, it's just that I don't normally go out of my way to view those sorts of posts and I know there is a BST and Customizers section if I wanted to see them.

true I've posted stuff in the appreciation thread and ML thread that ends up getting posted elsewhere or front paged because I didn't post a new thread or post in the News/rumors section

I visit 4 different sites frequently and hardly any are sticklers for separate "correct" threads and many are just multiple topic threads

When I posted originally, I was looking to see what the general consensus was because I've never seen a forum work like this, and I visit several myself. Now that I get where you guys are coming from and why it works well for you, I redact my opposition of it.

Without a mod constantly moderating the Appreciation thread, your ideal Appreciation thread is impossible. If you want it to be less crappy, tell the ML and Transformers lovers to stick to their own. And, in all honesty, the thread doesn't move that fast; it takes me only a few mins to catch-up to what is being discussed. If you need a specific query answered, create a new thread.

Wow. There's some harsh attacks on this guy for just asking a question.

I'm fine with the appreciation thread as is, but I agree that many of the posts that show up there really should go somewhere else. Then again, there are a lot of posts on there and other threads that should just go...

The all-in-one type threads are great for a number of reasons. One, they stop useless threads from being created that will just die in a page or two. Two, they generate tons of traffic. More casual forum users who have limited time to search can go to one place that they will find topics based on what they're interested in. Also if you are selling something of course put it in your BST but it's great to have a place where people will actually see that you have something for sale to just drop a quick line. "Hey I picked this up, hit me up if interested" That way people who don't know how to navigate the site well will have an opportunity to buy something they may be looking for. It helps both the seller and the buyer. And lastly, quit your bitchin IMO. Like everyone else said if you have a good thread idea... create it. That's the beauty of the interwebz..
