So I found out, lucky me, that the Avengers is coming to my area and will be filming at one of the airfields near Dayton Ohio. Samuel L Jackson is confirmed for my area and they are even hiring walkons from Wright Patterson Airforce Base, on what the news says "A Simulated Aircraft Carrier Deck". So that pretty much confirms the rumors of the Helicarrier, which got me thinking.
Avengers is going to be a Gigantic Film, and Hasbro is probably going to put as much as they put into Transformers into the Avengers toyline. Hopefully 4 inch line, give them a chance to unload all those movie figures they made already, and create a bunch of new ones. Which leads me to this "Are We Getting a 4inch figure Helicarrier Playset?" OH PLEASE LET IT HAPPEN! I will be 200 bucks for a freakin helicarrier.

I would say this, it's a good toy for them to make, for us to buy, it would be the first "real vehicle" in the MU line, minus the odd bike for Logan, giant battle command centre for Iron man, or the humvee for Captain america. Those stupid 4-wheeling quads need to stop, no super hero would use 1 especially any that can fly like IM. I could see them doing a shield battle van/car with shield crew and also an air support model. On top of all that there more then likely will be box sets, deluxe stuff, SDCC, 6'', 4'', and tons of cosplay type gear. I can't wait for the movie, assuming they can do it justice. I'm with ya though man, we need 1 , soon and bad.

200 bucks really? Think about it you could probably use that money to build your very own custom helicarrier !!!! , and if hasbro made one , the action figures playsets havent been good in the past i.e Toybiz x-jet , so they might not do as well as you think they could of. plus if you build your own one you will be happier because you built it and that it is to your standards and will be very likely to be better than hasbros, so i would suggest making an helicarrier rathar than buying one. Unless you know that hasbro has made really good playsets for 4inch figures in the past.

What we do know for certain on the figure front:
Thor (possibly a carryover from his line, with a new headscuplt), New Captain America Costume, New Ironman armor, Black Widow, Nick Fury, Hawkeye, Hulk, new bruce banner, and Loki as possibly a carryover from Thor or new figure. Playsets or vehicles could be varied, from Cap's battle wagon repainted in shield colors, to the helicarrier, or even the GI Joe mobile base repainted. There's also the shield flying car, and they could carry over the hummers from hulk's movie line, or the gi joe line. All around count me excited. It does make me wonder why they don't just merge all these lines under one banner though (IM, Cap, Thor) so they can open up some shelf space for Fox-Movie-verse line with X-Men/Wolverine/Daredevil. Which still leaves them a third movie based line for Spider-Man and company. We've also got fantastic 4 reborn coming up too. So probably a smaller line based on that. Though I think they may skip that as previous didn't sell so well. If there was a way, I'd say they should just make the Spider-Man line include the Fantastic 4. Keeps shelf space down on multiple lines, and allows them to do Spider-man actual costumes, while still having many heroes to use as well as villians. From fantastic 4, to black cat, anti-venom, venom, and more. If they start merging the toylines of the companies that hold the rights to each, it'd make for better shelf space, more varied figures, and they could keep them going. Doing the entire history of each franchise. Like X-Men 1 through First Class plus wolverine's movies alongside daredevil(solely because fox has his rights, though a lawyer does always fit in any franchise), ditto to fantastic 4/spider-man/Venom. Definitely for Avengers this needs to be done, as it'd keep the stock more varied, and prevent the peg warming effects of 25 ironman's or 10 caps or 10 thors in one line within 3 month period. =/ This way MU can just stay focusing on Comics, while the movie lines give us the movie interpretations regularly plus the occasional comic line version of said characters sporadicly and no extra shelf space has to be made except for large scale vehicles and deluxe figures around when the movies are out and then on dvd. Cutting back the deluxe figures when no visual medium is available to let that shelf space be used for other things. Though really, so long as they keep the ideas fresh on the deluxe figures, that could stay. Just really the vehicles I could see not moving after a long enough time. Though if they stick to iconic enough for the vehicles, they could still move even after the movie's have hit dvd. The sporadic comic line figure in the franchise based lines like this could also supplement MU. So like we have an entire wave of MU dedicated to X-Men and then comic version professor X in the X-Franchise line. Or an entire line of urban heroes, with daredevil in the X-Franchise line having an updated Comic style figure or of all 4 of his costumes. (Classic, Red, Safety suit, Shadowland.) This would also make sequels easier for package refreshing. As the flavor (current movie) of the week takes the headline on the packaging, while still fitting in buffer figures from other movies instead of overloading it with a single character with a ton of versions. Like say for Avengers, the package reads avengers, but for Ironman 3 change the card header to IronMan and the avengers with Ironman 3 in the corner or something. Ditto to any marvel movie sequel. Thor 2, Cap 2, etc. Each one could have a new header saying so and so and the avengers with the movie's name tagged on the card. When more than one is out in the same summer, just go back to the Avengers named card with the featuring figures from so and so movies as the subtext. This way, the line stays varied, they maintain a presence on the shelf, and the figures we want and kids want will always be readily available. Last edited by Snowflakian; 07-05-2011 at 07:10 PM.. |

Heck so long as it was comic or movie colored, I wouldn't be against it having a squadie version of shield/avnegers the movie characters. So long as the inside when open could still sit MU/Movie line with like observation deck chairs and couches on the inside. |

A helicarrier to scale with the 3 3/4'' figures would be much larger than my family room. If they make one, not only will it be out of scale, it will be WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAY out of scale- like, ridiculously too small. I'm not interested, personally.
