Well the X-Men is now "Wolverine and the X-Men" and that's pretty much what it boils down to. He is officially the main figurehead of the Mutant race now and he's an Avenger. And now that he's out of Uncanny X-Force it looks like the only books he's appearing in regularly will be Uncanny Avengers, Wolverine and the X-Men and most likely solo series that will start at #1 again.
The remaining 4 of the Phoenix 5 and Magneto are now wanted fugitives. I'm sure they'll cover that more in the AvX: Consequences book. Quote:
Just finished reading #12 and it made me want to say "no more Marvel". Just so frustrated with some of the big moves. I love that they wanted a way to bring more mutants into the world but not like this. Over the last decade Cyclops became the strong leader of the mutant community and earned the respect of the likes of Magneto and Wolverine. All of a sudden Wolverine goes back to an unnatural hatred for Scott and Scott becomes the villain. Cap (and then Iron Man) set this whole thing into motion then they want to hold Scott and the X-Men responsible for what they did while POSSESSED by godlike cosmic power? Shouldn't they be charged and held in prison for their part in this since they were not in an altered state of mind? The real kicker is Scott was right and all this fighting wasn't even necessary apparently.
Also, how many times has Professor X died or disappeared? I don't feel it will stick and if it does they just got rid of him because he wasn't involved in the core titles anymore. I think my rant comes off a lot more pissed off fanboyish than it really is but I just don't get these choices from a readership standpoint. Do they really think people want this or that new readers will have an easier time because of it? |

The recent and last issue of Uncanny X-Men did a good job of setting up what will happen to Scott next. I didn't even see it coming.

I picked up #12 and VS #6 yesterday. Over all I really enjoyed the event. This was the first time I picked up comics in a while. There are definitely somethings I felt they left out, I think a cable should have made an appearance at some point. I also think Scotts run it with Jean was really minimal. I also didnt care for Caps little meeting with Scott in jail. He was under the control of the Phoenix, of course he's ganna make s*** blow up. Like I said, I really liked event and I'm glad I started picking up comics again.
VS was also really enjoyable. I read a lot of manga so I'm a big fan of fight scenes. The one page battles in #6 were great. I'm a big fan of Hawkeyes days dreams. haha. The Cap vs Scott s*** talk battle was hilarious. Is consequence worth the pick up? I saw it in the shop yesterday but didnt think to flip through it. Its not about Scott dropping the soap is it...

So far there is nothing in AvX Consequences that makes it a must buy. Cyclops is in a private prison where they plan to put a lot more mutants. Wolverine visits and wants Cyclops to tell the X-Men who are on the run to turn themselves in. Gets mad about Prof X and Cyclops says he wasn't in control and never would have killed him. Wolverine doesn't care and says he "put them all on that path", whatever that means, so Wolverine hates him and wants to kill him. Oh, and Scott knows he would get off in court (diminished capacity/insanity) but thinks they plan to have him killed in prison and he wants to die a martyr.

The extinction team plus Magneto. (Collosus, Emma Frost, Magik and Namor). What I find interesting is that in the New Avengers January solicitation it has Namor once again reprising his role in the illuminati with Beast in place of Professor X and Black Panther now part of the team after being so strongly opposed to it when it was first formed. Namor and Panther in the same room together?! Gotta see how that turns out.

I'm confused with your first sentence. What isn't much of an X-Team? They aren't a team, they're just wanted fugitives. Since namor retreated back to Atlantis he can't be touched because it is a sovereign nation and it would be an act of war to try to confront him there according to Cap.
No Magneto didn't switch sides he just got bitch slapped for questioning Scott when he was loosing it. Never saw him since from what I remember. And since he and the Avengers have never and will never see eye to eye, I'm guessing he went back into solitude.

The "All-New X-Men" thing is such a confusing move. I wonder if they want it to last or are planning it as a short-term thing.
I think the X-Men related (not solo series) titles are, Wolverine and the X-Men All-New X-Men The two X-Force books X-Men Legacy X-Factor Uncanny Avengers I don't know if "X-Men" or Astonishing will keep going but Uncanny and New Mutants were canceled.

As one story arc it might be interesting but as a whole comic series it's confusing.
