Over in the Marvel Forum I talked about Toy Biz's foray into the Marvel line, which you can see here http://www.toyark.com/remembering-or...vel-line-1635/

But 1990 wasn't the beginning for Toy Biz and superheroes. The year was 1989 and Tim Burton's Batman staring Jack Nicholson and Michael Keaton and Batmania was sweeping the nation. Obviously a toy tie in was a natural extension. But Kenner who last held the DC license wasn't chosen but rather a new company got it, the aforementioned Toy Biz. The Batman line consisted of Batman (who had 3 head variants) The Joker (who used a modified Super Powers Joker Body and a new head) and Bob the Goon.

They even had the vehicles The Batmobile, Joker Van, The batcycle and the Batplane. To this date the Toy Biz Batwing is still my favorite version released. And of Course the Batcave playset was also available.

Check out the Bat Toys here:

But it didn't end for Toy biz there. Besides Batman they also released a line of DC's heavy hitters. For the first wave the line consisted of modified Super Powers figures with The Riddler created from the SP Flash's mold. Lex was the only new mold and he had a punching action which sort of made him hit himself in the head. Superman was cool because he came with a Kryptonite ring that had a magnet which pushed off the magnet in his chest and gave him "kryptonite poisoning" which knocked him over.

Wave 2 featured all new molds including, at least to my knowledge, the first Two-Face figure ever created and two different versions of the Flash.

D.C. Super Heroes

Alas Toy Biz didn't have the DC license long and it reverted back to kenner. But things worked out for Toy Biz any how.
