hey it's those guys!
hasbro Graces us with another army builder figure, this time it's from A.I.M. (Advanced Idea Mechanics) from wave three of their Marvel Universe Hammerfiles figures. the AIM agent is one of the more obscure expendable characters, though the most visually...striking(?) ones ever designed! often ridiculed with their nickname "the Bee Keepers" (lets face it they DO look like they work in a bee farm). though don't be fooled, each one of these guys ave at least one Ph.D and are skilled soldiers. in short each of them went to the chess club in high school and got bullied for it, and harbored that hate all throughout college and their graduate studies. i have to say i'm really warming up to the design of it. first off, this guy is a new body design (at least to my eyes) though one can get some mileage with this type. it was mentioned before by a fellow collector that he would make a good Ghost rider. though part of me still wishes ol' Vengance head is a new mold. he's molded in yellow plastic with yellow paint detail washing and black details like the boots and collar. both are painted. the other details that breaks the monotony are the eye visors/screens and the belt. his weapons and bandolier are molded in black, and the weapons have neon green detailing. i applaud the special attention done with the details with drybrushing and highlighting. paint quality is top notch since he's pretty much molded into his color scheme to begin with but watch out for splotches or scuffs, primarily in the head area and the boots. as mentioned before his accessories include his bandolier, his SCIENCE GUN! and his SCIENCE CANNON! as well as his stand and number in his wave. articulation wise he has a pretty wide range of movement, sporting 26 points of articulation, though some of them are hindered by the sculpt and accessories. his belt for example blocks his waist twisting and his biceps keep his free arm from supporting the other arm holding his SCIENCE! cannon. though he can sport other poses that are very suave for secret agent-types: what's more is the joints on mine are tight and can hold poses like so: though his legs tend to pop off at the hips (this has become one of the defining traits of the line), it's not as bad as some figures. all in all i give this figure a 7 out of 10. he's not very known or wanted (unless you army build) so you have a good chance of nabbing him. though not as detailed as some figures, his simple design is part of his charm. plus he comes with cool looking weapons and not the so-and-so (read: unconvincing) blast effects or doo-dads. though he is below the figures who come with pets. he's the first use of his sculpt so he's pretty fresh. and he keeps Deadpool very happy. i'm game to buy more of these guys. |

Yes! I love army building! I hope these guys turn out like the hand ninjas and there's a bunch left over on store pegs.

I actually just got my SHS Ghost Rider in the mail today. I bought the rider pack that came with the stand/bike. If you have 10 dollars to spend you can pick up the single Ghost Rider booster and put him on your bike.

There are two versions, the rider pack with bike and the booster card with just the figure.
I got the rider version who's poses are very limited outside of "riding" but I wanted to have the bike in case MU didn't come with one. But I do most of my shopping on ebay. Most SHS figures are cheap. |

I HAVE to have this figure as soon as possible. I think this mold will make a pretty cool Starlord eventually, too.

This guy needs a 3 pack of himself to be released. I'd be all over it.

I'm only buying this guy for the novelty factor of having an evil beekeeper.
Thanks for the review, dude!

I want this so bad. There's a serious charm factor to AIM that I've never been able to deny.

Man, before this review I do not think that the AIM soldier would have made it into my collection but now I kind of want a couple just for that extra bit of universe plus that is a pretty unique costume.

Eisen, just out of curosity
1) Why isn't the bandolier on the figure in the poses? I only ask because I'm curious to see if it hinders the positions possible 2) Do you have anymore of these waves? I'd love to see you post pics of Juggy and Colossus and what not. In Eisen fashion of course :-P |

1: personal preference actually. the bandolier doesn't hinder the movement of the upper torso, since the length just ends up right above the upper torso's joint.
2:unfortunately those are pretty rare now here though i will see if they restocked this week. if i have any or both on hand they will get reviewed for sure |

Hmmmm, I'm finding I'm liking this guy more now and wonder if I should pick up a few more while they're still available at HTS. Of course then I'll need to pick up MODOK to go with them....hmmmmm.
