Im sure we can all agree this year had some amazing stuff from toy fair but every one of us probably wishes they had seen something but didnt. What item do you wish was shown this year but wasnt.
--No Funko Pop Universal Monsters Series 2 which means no invisible man. --The hobbit toys seem effectively dead which means i can never collect all 13 dwarves. --speaking of dead, both NECA and Hot Toys seem to have abandoned the Prometheus license. How the main character of the film doesnt get a figure in 3 series' I'LL never know. --No new transformers generations beast wars figures. Rattrap, Rhinox, and waspinator were awesome and i was hoping for more of those. --Marvel Legends and the SLEW of characters who have yet to see a figure. Seriously too many to list, but at least we have another captain america...>_> --Kidrobot is still teasing those megaman vinyl figures but no street date, if ever. What were you hoping for but didnt see? Last edited by daveysockrocker; 02-18-2015 at 03:50 AM.. Reason: new info |

I'm very grateful for all the work by our ToyArk hosts. This seems like a good place to say so. THANK YOU. Your photos gave me the confidence to commit to $300 worth of sales in the near term, and highlighted some new things to keep an eye on as the year progresses.
I also want to express a feeling and see if others agree: that a great deal of hard work is being done by a few players in the industry without as much recognition as they deserve. Money is tight, expectations are high, and it is more difficult than ever to find the sweet spot for niche markets. I don't feel let down over anything. I just think this is a time to be patient, focus on strengths and hang tough. Rgds |

Acting like mentioning missed items as some sort of complaining is kind of ridiculous. |

I'll agree with OP about new Beast Wars characters. Their recent Rhinox, Rattrap and Waspinator kick all kinds of ass.
Still no mention of a release for the red Legends/Infinite Deadpool and Blade is really disappointing. Similarly, it was a bummer to see the size comparisons for the DCC Icons toyline with their typical 6.75" scale designer series. That classic Superman and Longbow Hunter Green Arrow look amazing (and I've been waiting for a good GA for a long time), but they just won't fit in on my shelf of current DCC offerings, and I'm too deeply invested to pick up a new scale. It's great for people who have been wanting a new DC toyline to go with Marvel Legends, though. |

Bard, Beorn, Azog's warg and the dwarves will never see the light of day. They released a Smaug on the Warner brothers website for only the US limited to 1000 pieces but that's it. Thranduil is the newest figure we got from them, and that was last year and the only figure we got from a Desolation of Smaug line. |

TMNT Classics - Looks like that line is dead. How did we get Rocksteady and Bebop, but no Shredder?

Another thing for me as a Power Ranger fan... they announced a Black and Gold Megazord (third use of this mold since 2010) and no Thunder Megazord to go with my beautiful Legacy Tigerzord. That was the biggest 'Really?!?' for me. Seeing Funko Legacy Rocketeer and Diamond Select Ghostbusters made my day, though. Oh, and that Titan Devastator and Leader Magnus! |

I was hoping to see more Beast Wars remakes as well, particularly Tarantulas. Also the NECA kenner homage Aliens, they had already stated those wouldn't be at the fair but I am super eager to see them.

This is all 3 3/4 scale sadness
Hasbro- They counldn't even bother showing figures we still havent seen at retail, yet alone no new figures, I understand not FA toys, but nothing! Really??? Said too about marvel/Avengers showing 1 new wave sad sad sad Still No BD hobbit toys 1 box set come on please complete the set. Still wishing Funco put out all those lines in modern articulation/sculp versions of all their figure lines. sad on the Kiss and Flash gordon figures expected same as funco Also wishing Neca would embrass the 3 3/4 scale for planet of the apes. with every picture I see I cry out why not 3 3/4 i would be so broke. Mattel needs to pick more then the arkum video games for their figure line. |

The lack of a Shredder from both Classics and the first live action movie is annoying.

I was really looking forward to seeing the Dante from DMC that Neca is/was doing and the Fallout/Skyrim figures from Funko.

I also really wanted to see Funko's Fallout legacy figures, just some Brotherhood of Steel power suits and I'll be good, just like the t45-d for sure and maybe a t51-b too.

Ah, alright, I'll search for it. I had googled it, but didn't see anything other than older pics.
I agree on the power suits though, but we have to get the vault dweller. I'm crossing my fingers for Fawkes, Brotherhood of Steel armors, Enclave armors, Ghouls, Three Dog, Dogmeat, Boone, Rex, ED-E, Cass, Arcade Gannon, Securitrons, Super mutants, raiders, ect. Man, I could go on for hours. The fallout games are some of my favorites of all time. I'm not too into Skyrim, but I know I'd pick up Dovahkin and some giants.

Sorry for the off-topic threadjacking. Serves me right for posting in the middle of the night.
It's interesting how many people were looking for Hobbit stuff. My sense is that the biggest problem with LOTR merchandise was overproduction: retailers around the world are still sitting on piles of stale inventory that they cannot move. With the Hobbit trilogy, there's probably some pressure not to overshoot demand. Just guessing. Rgds |

NECA: I know that I will probably be in the minority here, but I was really disappointed in NECA's lackluster showing this year, and I have a few things to nitpick. I apologize for the forthcoming wall of text...
Outside of the new MEGO styled Jason Voorhees, not seeing anything new for Friday the 13th was a huge disappointment. A few new Jason figures (Parts 5, 6, 7, 8, and 9 have no 7" NECA versions to speak of,) or an ultimate version at least would have satiated my appetite, but again, they chose to focus on the MEGO offerings, (which looks absolutely amazing mind you and is a must buy for me) but still not what I would have preferred. The lack of new licenses or creativity with their current licenses is also starting to show. There is not much more that they can do with the Predator line at this point, as we are starting to get into the "paying 25 dollars for repaints" territory. After the Dark Horse, Video Game, and next Predator wave, I am probably bowing out entirely from collecting them as there is nothing left other than the AVP stuff, which I was never a fan of. My Monster Arts Wolf Predator gives me all the AVP I really need from the only redeemable movie in the crap that has come out since Predator 2. Speaking of NECA's video game line...more disappointment there as well, as the Godzilla and Gremlins figures, two that I was really stoked for, were really underwhelming. The Godzilla figure especially, despite having an awesome deco, is RUINED entirely by them using the 1985 Zilla instead of the 1954 Godzilla, which was closer to the game and is the Zilla featured on the box art. Gremlins shocked me by having Mohawk instead of Gizmo, which was a letdown, as I feel Gizmo would have had a better look to it. The rest of what NECA showed was "meh". The Commando figure looks too much like the various Dutch Schaefer figures, no new Robocop figures in sight, and the Pacific Rim stuff is rounding out to a close as well, as I'm not sure they can do much more with the line other than give us more Gypsies. No real new license announcements was also kind of disappointing. Hard to get excited for the Terminator Genesys license when the exoskeletons currently available are fragile salt shakers. With NECA's love of all things Arnold, you would think that they would have announced a "Running Man" line, which I would have gladly thrown my wallet at. Was also hoping that with NECA's success with vicious alien monsters, that they would have announced a "Starship Troopers" license. A chance to create dios with Johnny Rico, Dizzy Flores, and the Bugs paired up Hicks, Hudson and the Xenos? Ooooh...please. Sign me up. The "ultimate" figures both looked great, but still was lacking. No "ultimate" Jason Voorhees? Why no wide release of 89 Batman? Jack Nicholson Joker anyone? Why not an ultimate Robocop with Peter Weller head and changeable chest armor? (And don't give me that crap about Weller's likeness and permissions, because if Hot Toys could do it, then NECA should be able to as well.) NECA took the majority of my cash last year, but I really feel like they didn't do a whole lot to step up their game this upcoming year, where Hasbro actually did, with what I felt that I was a really strong showing. Although, there is a bone to pick with them too, and it's not about it's weak Star Wars showing... It's the fact that there was NO F'N G.I.JOE TO BE SEEN... I was hoping for something...anything...Black Series Joes...M.A.S.K. maybe...but nothing. SUPER disappointing. I know that JoeCon is coming up soon, so there is hope that there might be something there, but I'm really not holding my breath, and spending 40+ dollars each on subscription figures is just a bit rich for my blood. It seems that Joes are once again on the verge of going extinct, although G.I.Joe never really dies does it? It just kinda hibernates for a while. Hopefully it won't be 10 years before we see Duke and company again gracing store shelves. And finally, like many others here have complained about, the apparent cancellation of the Shredder for the TMNT Classics wave has me steamed. Furious in fact. How can Playmates say the classics line failed, when outside of the one or two times I found them on a peg, they were almost ALWAYS sold out? And even if poor sales really was the case, perhaps they should have thought about that before making the terrible and very creepy movie classics figures last year, when fans really wanted more characters to go with the classic cartoon turtles they just invested in. Shame on you Playmates for denying us TMNT fans THE SHREDDER WE DESERVE once again. |

The whole thing. Everything I care about was stuff we already knew was coming. No new reveals in the realm of Figuarts, MonsterArts, NECA's Godzilla line, or DC figures.

Glad to see the Hobbit mentioned a couple times here. Totally agreed. Not that I was expecting anything, no surprise - but still disappointing. There's so much incredible potential for Middle Earth toys and its a shame it's been completely left in the dust. Hell at this point I'd even go for a line of ReAction Hobbit/LOTR.
...actually now I think about it that would be pretty awesome. |
