At two minutes in he's talking about the Haslab project and he just slips up and says it's the Rancor lol. |

I don’t even have a meme for this slip-up. Patrick, oh Patrick.

Well f* me. I don't buy Star Wars as that's just an embargo I have against my spending, but I've always wanted a Rancor.

I don't even think the Rancor is that popular... probably should have been something like a 6" scale AT-ST instead.

The rancor is definitely popular, it's Star Wars' go-to large monster (so many video games love including these things) and in the 3.75" scale it's usually a good seller. Even people less familiar with the franchise can still appreciate the toyetic appeal of a big monster creature. The AT-ST though, while still cool for its own reasons, is a smaller and objectively less cool version of the gigantic AT-AT. Vehicles in the 6" scale are also rough because with the First Order TIE fighter as the only real reference to use Hasbro probably doesn't have confidence that people are interested in larger vehicles in the scale.

Makes sense considering if this gets funded it'd probably come out in time for ROTJ's 40th anniversary.

They also did the Snowspeeder which seems to hang around. I've read some people not wanting the Rancor either but I think they're more VC people who want vehicles for that scale over Black Series. The AT-ST might happen some day, it's just not a Haslab tier project. Not nearly big enough on it's own to warrant it.

Disagree. A black series AT-ST would be an ideal Haslab project. Casual collectors will pass but the seasoned toy-room having collectors will probably pick up the slack by ordering two. And the AT-ST is approximately the same size as the rancor... mb slightly taller so it should be feasible.

If the 1/18 Hero Series was $45 with no cockpit, moving wings, landing gear or, uh, anything at all besides a bunch of stickers instead of paint, how much a 1/12 with actual features cost? Hell, how much would it weigh? |

Pretty obvious it was going to be a rancor when they said “non-vehicle” project. I don’t think a Ronto was gonna cut it.

Been taking a break from all things Star Wars but a huge ass Rancor might be something I would be interested in. Even more so if theres some Phil Tippett involvement.

It's no barge, but that thing's a one and done; you get one, you find a place for it, and you look at it every now and then. Move the figures around. An X-Wing just begs to be played with, and you know full well people would be trying to get multiples despite the thing being, like, 40-45"

I have a couple of the black series Tie Fighters and while I can move them around and play with them.... I am also a 6ft, barrel-chested, 285lbs man. For most people it would remain a statue.
Hoping we get a re-release of the Tie Fighter and standard X-Wing in the vintage line as I recently started collecting the vintage vehicles. Last edited by Augustus10; 07-17-2021 at 04:51 PM.. |

I think this is a cool idea, but damn……all these giant items over the last few years are really taking up space. I have zero idea where I would even put this. I was hoping for a bantha or x-wing…..or even Jabba’s throne room.

Not a hardcore Star Wars collector, but I'd love to see this paired with a new Marvel Legends Mole Man.
