Can't say I dig the look too much, reminds me of Brainiac somehow. I know its from the comics, as is the entire wave, but I would still prefer a more animated inspired appearance.
The translucent hand is great looking though, apply that technique to an entire upper torso and head and you have a really awesome looking Blight figure. |

Leave it to McFarlane to dunfuckup again. In fact, I thought that was Brainiac on the front page. Hell, it looks like Greeza from Ultraman.

(Radiation) BURN This would make a good stand-in for Atomic Skull too!

Oh….man. I was just going to say……it looks exactly like the comic version. Which is what Todd has been doing. Lol.

Was seriously hoping it'd be the outfit he wore in the cartoon.
Hopefully the variant is, but I bet it'll just be no helmet. |

For the record for those who don't know. When this figure was announced, Mcfarlane was clear as day that the whole Beyond line would be comic design based.
There should be no surprise that's what happened. Though an animated version would be sweet, especially if it glowed in the dark. |

This is Blight:
I have no idea what that dude is, the Mr Burns instead of Mr Freeze?

I've yet to see any of the figures in stores since my stores have clogged shelves of Rebirth Batman, Joker looking Robin, Batgirl, Nightwing, Joker, Flashpoint Batman, bat ears Flash, Animated John Stewart, and.. well, like 10 other Batmans and an old looking Superman.

Did he wear some kind of suit that the figure could be a reference to? This figure should also glow in the dark

I understand what you mean, but I don't really understand where you are coming from. You easily threw out that McFarlane messed up, yet you readily admit that A) you don't pay attention to the line and B) you only acknowledge the cartoon as source material. Why comment at all then? Could just have easily looked at the picture and thought, "Must be based on something I'm not familiar with. This is not for me." and moved on. Instead, you have to infuse the thread with another comment with swear words, so that everyone who reads it knows that you, not only don't approve, but that Todd McFarlane is a talentless loser who is royally messing up a toy line that you have no interest in. That would be like me going on a Marvel Legend thread and ripping those 3 Hasbro douchebags apart because they made the Invisible Woman look like the botched abortion of a mongoloid donkey. But…because I couldn't care less about the shitty toy line of a trash property, I don't go smearing threads with my disgust. Negativity, while an easy go-to, doesn't really help anything or anyone. I try to live life enjoying what I think are the good things and ignoring the rest. Peace, man.

Additionally, I'm still trying to find something that catches my eye with this line since I am still a DC fan. Lastly, because I felt like commenting. Quote:

And that's your perogative, but that's not me. I like to express myself whether people agree with me or not. I don't need to like something to comment on it. If I'm in the mood, I'll comment on anything and everything regardless of whether or not I'm into the brand or not.
My condolences about your friend. Grief is a bitch and is known to cause people to lash out for all kinds of bizarre reasons. I was probably a completely insufferable prick when my dad died in '04. |

And that is absolutely your right. As long as you don't mind being called out on your blatant ignorance, it's all good.

It's nice they're doing comic versions, but let's face it - 90% of the people that would want them want the cartoon versions.

I don't mind being called out because when I'm wrong, I'm wrong. I don't know everything about every character ever made, so it is cool to learn new things. I did not know Blight was even in the BB comics as I gave up on the series before Rebirth. Not a fan of the design though, it looks too much like an Atomic Skull body to me.

Yuck, go with the animated series look McFarlane. This is a dud. It's like someone else in the thread mentioned, very Brainiac looking.
And honestly, not reading the comics I had no idea that the figure would be such a drastic departure from the animated series. All the others we have gotten so far have been pretty close to the animated series counterparts to the point I didn't even realize he was doing a comic look. It's a different look that I'm used to but I haven't read the comics.
He does look very cool and different than other figures. When I see it in my local import shop for a normal price I will get him. |
