I've never had a McFarlane spidey in hand before, so I can't be sure, but that looks kind of knock offish to me, the paint is kind of poor and there is mold flashing sticking out everywhere! I don't know man, Maybe ask for a pic of the Hasbro info plate? probably on the inner thigh, or the bottom of the foot?

I've never really understood the obsession with that Spidey to be honest with you. I have the "Romita" version of him from the Fearless Foes pack (the one with the Lizard, Rhino, Carnage and Vulture) and I absolutely hate that mold. I love how lanky the figure is, but he doesn't pose as well as you'd think, is a bit on the tall side, has some scary long hands and feet, and feels fragile and cheaply made. I always thought the Spidey from Spider-man classics (the very first one) was the true McFarlane Spidey. That figure, despite being less articulated than some of the Spidey's that followed, is still amazing!
On the subject though and personal feelings on this figure aside, I've never personally dealt with this seller, but like all toys that come from China, buyer beware. Especially when you're paying THAT much for what could very well be a knock off. I can imagine that if it is a KO figure, it wouldn't take long before the fingers or the arms end up breaking off, especially since it's based off that same mold of the for-mentioned Spidey, and probably uses much more inferior plastics than the original versions did. |

I just like the overall look of the figure, and i definitely think he's a win in terms of articulation. the latest figure we got has those weird butterfly joints, otherwise i'd be completely happy with him. No offense, but if you don't like the Spidey from the fearsome foes pack would you sell him to me?
I also like the web "parachute" that came with the figure, giving him the underarm webbing that was present in many of Spider-Man's earlier issues during the golden age. It's the finer details that bother me most about him (the hands and feet, fragile feeling plastics.) I pretty much have posed him maybe one or two times because of this, and stuck him in the back peeking out behind a group of other Spideys. |

Were talking Spiderman, my fav for aesthetics is the super strength, great face and nice dark blue. Iconic its that Romita and its the most joined. McFarland had a nice lanky body but that causes the thigh ball joints to stand out.
Super strength is my pick, not articulated like McFarlane our Romita, but if Spiderman was real, that's the costume that would bee used. Its not that muscular and not that skinny, and the dark blue is terrific and not cartoon looking. Dark and gritty. Makes super strength the winner in my book. |

I'm gonna order that Blue Deadpool bootleg first chance I get. They used to sell for like $43 but seen a bunch end at $19.99 with 1 bid lately.
Perfect price for me.

Sooooooooooooo....
I got my knockoff Redpool in the mail today. I LOVE IT !!! The only problem is his chest piece feels stiffer than the real one (slightly harder plastic it seems) but everything is feels the same. Couldn't be happier. For $29 bucks shipped I can't complain. No loose or stiff joints. The katanas have little scratches but nothing I can't fix or repaint. Unpacked Next to a MOC one. If you're hesitating on Redpool, give it a try. I got mine from Star Wars figure, DC Universe items in viperkingdom store on eBay!. Ordered it about 10 days ago so his shipping time is great.

I've given this bootleg Deadpool hell with posing the past 4 days...still no signs of any loose joints or anything bad.
Very happy with it.

Straying a little from the Fakepools, but still keeping on the K.O. figure theme, I recently pulled the trigger on a different K.O. figure that I saw posted on Viperkingdom's Ebay store, this one being a K.O. of Bandai's Movie Realization Black Spider-Man/Venom from Spider-Man 3. This figure came out back in 2007 when the movie hit the theaters, and was available only as a two pack overseas. Now-a-days, I've seen this same box set retail for as much as 150 bucks, so imagine my surprise when I saw the Black Spider-man featured as a single figure for only 18 dollars shipped. Having wanted a decent movie-verse black Spidey for years after the colossal disappointment that was the Marvel Legend SM3 line, I didn't hesitate to pull the trigger. I mean, how bad could it be right?
Well...he arrived in the mail today... ...and I must say...I'm in love. The figure is based off of Sam Raimi's original designs for dark Spidey/Venom, with a more anatomical "skinless flesh" look (the "flesh" if you will...is taught and is being pulled in all directions,) with a symbiotic mask that's far creepier than what we eventually got in the movie. Like Raimi's original vision for the Green Goblin, he battled with studio heads at Marvel and Sony over a Venom design that they felt was too terrifying and scary for children, a battle that forced several scenes to either be cut from the movie (the infamous symbiotic scream boo moment in the trailer,) or changed altogether during production (compare the scene from the movie in which Brock becomes Venom, to the one that was previewed at SDCC that year, and you will see a huge difference.) The head sculpt on this guy is amazing, with organic teeth that's not unlike his comic book son, Carnage. The quality of the bootleg really impressed me though. All the joints were tight, the paint apps were right on (including translucent symbiote eyes...very creepy as you can see through them) and the figure was sturdy and well constructed. He has come apart on occasion a few times, but being that it's a KO of a pvc Bandai figure, and not a Hasbro figure, it was to be expected, and he was easily put back together. He's also slightly bigger than the average Marvel Legend, but he's far better proportioned than the movie Venom that we got from the SM3 line, and honestly, I kinda like the towering size he has over my movie-verse Spideys. It kinda reminds me of a symbiotic Jason Voorhees. With the crappy Black Spider-Man and the ridiculously proportioned movie-verse Venom (which is still a good figure) from the ML: SM3 wave... Doing battle with Movie Spidey (which happens to be my favorite Spidey figure of all time overall.) As you can see, the joints on the figure were nice and tight, which really surprised me considering it's a bootleg. K.O. Venom/Spidey was able to maintain all poses with little to no assistance. Sorry if I went into too much detail on this, but being that some of you have actually had some positive experiences with your Fakepools and other bootlegs, I figured I'd share one of my own as well. |

Raimi movie figs are probably some of my favorite marvel figs too. That Goblin and battle damaged spidey were great. That was when movie toys weren't cheap 5poa

Sadly I'll never get my hands on a legit Deadpool so I've gone ahead and ordered one of the red knock offs from China. They seem to be hot and miss for some but I'm hopeful mine is solid. And if he is I think I'll get a blue pool for my X-Men!

So apparently I've heard that the Shiny Silver Deadpool Bootleg is the rarest of the bootleg bunch, going to try and hunt one down.

Just wondering,
do the Deadpools you guys buy from China come with all their accessories and the grey hexagons display stand? I would like to get one (since given the lack of his appearance at US retail and his very minimal appearance at UK discounters, I think these ARE legit factory leftovers that never got packaged and shipped), but before I pull the trigger I want to know if he comes with all his intended parts. |
