I've come to the realization that I will never find a wave 3 Deadpool (either Grey or Red) in the wild, so I've been recently roaming around Ebay in hopes of finding one, and have run into a large variety of what I'm assuming to be knock off figures from China and Hong Kong in all sorts of various colors.
I'm curious. Have any fellow arkers here ever actually ordered one of these knock off Deadpools, and if so, how would you rate the quality of the figures and their accessories? I honestly don't have a preference in color (I actually like the grey and black as well as the red, and there's a nifty silver and black one I've seen on Ebay as well) but if you did happen to order one, I was also curious as to what version of the figure did you happen to get? (That way, I can get an idea of consistency among all the different variations.) Any help, info, or advice would be greatly appreciated! And of course, if any of you are willing to part with your loose Deadpool for a reasonable price to prevent me from going that rout, I'm willing to listen! Thanks! |

I've been wondering the exact same thing. I keep checking ebay on occasion in the hopes that one of the bootleggers will be ambitious enough to paint one to resemble Ultimate Deadpool, and not just in those bright "Kenner Batman" colors, lol. I've had no luck so far, but if I am lucky enough to find one, I'm also curious whether it will be of the same quality as my Hasbro Deadpool.

They look poorly done.
A lot of Marvel Legends from China are on ebay now. I'm wondering if they're legit or not, don't wanna risk it.

Someone on here bought one and it ended up cracking on him at the midsection or arm. If you don't plan on fiddling with it too much I'm sure it should be fine.
I kind of want to get the white Deadpool myself but until I hear more about them or see a video review I won't pull the trigger and spend $20+ on a knockoff. Here's a pic of what todigandbedug said broke on him in page 33 A few people have said they're just Hasbro factory rejects and/or blank figures that were done over with leftover paints. Seems plausible.

there is one on display at my LCS and let me tell you unless you are getting it as a gag then stay away. These things feel ready to fall about just by holding them. There is something very wrong with them. I am 99.9999% convinced they are factory rejects that some workers painted up and slapped on ebay

I had a friend who was a Star Wars fan, and he used to talk about hoping to buy some of those stupid, hipster "Sucklord" figures; the ones based on Star Wars characters, of course. They are supposed to be satirical, but just look like cheap, flea market, bootleg junk. These new Deadpools could be the new equivalent of Sucklord figures, but without the snarky irony, LOL ! You guys do realize that all of this stuff comes from china? A majority of the time, production runs come with a number, afterwards, the workers usually make more in the same molds, and come out exactly the same. Still considered ko's, but technically not. You have a right to feel nervous, but at the same time, maybe you shouldn't. I say this because I've gotten ko neca tmnt's , and they are pretty much the same exact thing as the originals.

Who know. The deadpools might be absolute junk. But chances are, it's the same exact thing as the original. I just can't vouch for that exact figure.

I've purchased knock off figures in the past to fill certain holes in my collection that I knew I could not get otherwise, with varying degrees of satisfaction. I had a KO Sagat figure from the for-mentioned SOTA Street Fighter line that was as sturdy as could be, but had some pretty shoddy paint apps (which wasn't entirely unbearable nor unfix-able.) My iGear seekers (third party Transformers I know, but the seeker set is so close to the original molds they might as well be knock offs...) are really awesome, and in fact, almost better than the real deal. I have seen the KO NECA TMNT firsthand at a recent toy expo, and they are nearly indistinguishable from the original product (except for the colored headbands of course) and are quite amazing. And on the other spectrum, I bought some KO Halo weapons from China that, while looking great, didn't work at all with the figures they were made for. The frustrating thing about it is that there's no real forum or site that I know of to dive into and do some research with before dropping 20 or 30 bucks and waiting for a month for what could be a total crap shoot. I've spent hours scouring through Google, message boards, and YouTube, with little to no luck. While I've seen reviews on the bootleg NECA Turtles online, you would think there would be more information or reviews on some of the others out there, especially in the case of Marvel Legends, where people are dropping big bucks to get their hands on rare chase figures or figures that are under-distributed from Hasbro overall. All that aside, after seeing Cidman911's post, I'll probably end up getting an authentic wave 3 Deadpool in gray off of an American Ebay seller, and give the Chinese sellers an experimental shot when the disposable income is available. I really do like that loud silver and black version, but I'd rather take a chance only after I have what I really want. |

Hi, in Chile a lot of peaople are buying this Fakepools from Chinese sellers and selling them here at USD 60.
We sells and buy a lot from Facebook, and a friend of mine make a little versus between a Original Gray Deadpool and a Fakepool. I almost buy a RedFakepool but when I meet the guy and look at the figure I refuse. Crappy figure, fragile plastic, paint badly applied, joints loose and fragile (almost tore the arm of by moving it). Soooo DON'T BUY THEM!!! Now I'm looking in ebay for one original Deadpool sealed from UK with some scotch on it!!

It’s not just Deadpool figures, there has been a rash of (first) Red Hulks and (more recently) Hulks from the ML Valkyrie/Hulk two-packs showing up on eBay as well. I have both of the Hulks in question, but I almost bought a Red Hulk for the “buy now” price of $40. I considered the purchase as a potential resale investment. I didn’t follow through with the purchase before it was snatched up by someone else, but it made me research whether the Red Hulk I already owned (which was purchased on eBay) was also a KO. I watched an AdvocatePinoy video (I think it was your video – I believe I have seen you post on here so pardon the shout out) and learned you can tell the difference between KO and the real deal from the lack of detail on the button and zipper of the Hulk’s jeans and something about the bottom of the foot.
I’m actually glad that I didn’t buy the Red Hulk KO then resell it to someone else. I guess if I had posted a listing stating that I suspected it to be a KO then that might be ok, but to purposely hoodwink someone would be smarmy at the least. However, this whole issue brings up an interesting thought about eBay. These KO’s could potentially devalue some of the inflated prices of these ML figures. Is Deadpool really worth $100 plus? Or Red Hulk or Hulk for that matter? I guess there is a market for the prices we see online; a “whatever the market will bear” sense of things. Considering that I own many of these figures (not Deadpool ironically), I suppose its nice to see that they have value. But I can’t tell you how many times I have looked at something like this new ML movie Black Widow, ML Kree Soldier, ML hand ninja, or ML Nick/Dum Dum Dugan/Shield Agent and scoffed at the $50 price-tag. Maybe KO’s could work in the favor of some of us as collectors. I have to admit that I sort of wish the KO’s makers could get their hands on the mold for that Bi-beast Hasbro never released. I’d buy that for a dollar!! Or forty dollars…or maybe forty-five! Last edited by TheBlueMarvel; 04-24-2014 at 11:16 AM.. |

Dude on my Facebook got his in the mail from Viperkingdom on Ebay.
He paid like $31 shipped. Says it's good, just softer plastic used than the real one. Gotta say, the fake looks a hell of a lot better than the real one...minus a scratch here and there.

You mean you prefer the shiny silver to the gray? Wouldn't really match the other UNXF figures but would fit in with the first Wolverine team.

Yeah I'd much rather have a silver DP than a grey one.

I have found at times the "knock offs" (or factory rejects or whatever the story is) are sometimes better than the same figure I'll find later at retail. Especially with the smaller MU/MI figs, the legs tend to get warped in the packaging, or the paint can be pretty bad at retail. The warped limbs have never been an issue on the ones I've bought from Hong Kong or China, as they were never in packaging as far as I can tell. Every once in a while I'll get 2 left feet or something that I may not even notice for a while.

He is pretty shiny. I just preferred their grey uniforms to the shiny silver ones. They never made sense to me. They just seem gaudy to me but I know some people prefer that look.

I pulled the trigger on a knockoff Red Deadpool for $29 shipped.
I don't feel like paying $75-125 for him and the custom Deadpool I want is taking forever to find parts and fodder for so this will do. Last week I contacted Viperskingdom and he said if I get the figure and anything was damaged or messed up I could get another one and the ones my friends have gotten so far have been great. No breaking parts or weird smells...it was probably the first batches that had problems. So we'll see in 3-5 weeks when I get it if it was worth the money.

I got one of the blue and yellow X-Men version Deadpool from the Warpath pack and he it's awesome. The paint is great and he is a little tighter than my Factory redpool. All of these Deadpool molds have the little feet so no matter who made them they all wanna fall over if you look at them funny.
I took a gamble on him but for $23 shipped, I was pleasantly surprised! |

Hahaha! There are lots of QC issues with this knock off Deadpool. Soft and loose joints, loose belts, a darkish paint wash (I've never seen a legit one before, so what do I know?) Generally, and it may all be in my head, but it just feels cheaper - across the board. Including of course 2 left shoulder katanas which were paint chipped up and down.
I'm not complaining about this, there is a reason no doubt to the value of the box set the originals came in, and Xuwentai, sent me a stand and a hand gun for the thigh holster that I've never seen in any of the knock off auctions. So, the moral isn't always that you get what you pay for, but where knock offs are concerned, you definitely do. I'll still try and buy the original with Warpath one of these days, because they will only smell like plastic! My Mandroids aren't knock offs lol. Do the figures tighten up with freezing and if so, how long do you leave them in there? Thanks in advance! I also ordered either a black and white or a silver and white, and both 'companies' said up to 45 days for delivery, I got this one in 11.

^ That blue Deadpool looks awesome.
I'm gonna wait and see how my red one is before I pull the trigger on the white/black Deadpool seeing as I already have a real X-Force one.

Ok, this is my last china-pool, lol. Yes its neat and fun to have, but if K-Mart actually has this 3 part Deadpool series I'll buy them all. The paint is terrible, the joints are terrible and the idea is funny. Just one pic as its all that's its worth.

I have the Yellow pool and Blue Pool. For the Blue I have the real and knockoff. My joints are fine and tight and the plastic I CANNOT tell if they are different. The Yellow Pool is very nice, loving the paint job. Wish Hasbro will do the old Toy Biz stuff as I LOVED the Xmen classics Magneto, Avalanche and Juggernaut designs.
I felt it was Toy Biz own versions of the characters if they were Marvel artists. |
