Does anyone here sew fabric clothes for their figures? I find that adding fabric clothes and pieces to my existing figures provides an improved sense of realism and detail to each figure I customize. If I'm unable to build an outfit with my sewing machine, then I will try my best to locate an alternative. Due to the popularity of Mego-style figures, I've noticed it's much easier to find fabric clothes for that scale than any other. For that reason, I mostly prefer to collect figures around the 6 inch, 7 inch and 8 inch scale.

I don't because I hate fabric on my figures, especially 6 inch ones. I prefer rubber capes because they don't tear, shred, wear out, get stained, etc, and they look like they do in whatever medium they are from.

I'll always give a cloth cape to my 3.75" figures that need one. Thor, Odin, Vision, Scarlet Witch, Punisher, & Loki all have a cloth cape or coat

If there's something I can't get right or sew myself, I try to locate a functional piece from another figure. Most of the clothing available on classictvtoys.com is made for the 8 inch scale figures, although they do have options for the female figures. Ultimately, I've found it can be easier to make a piece yourself instead of trying to modify an existing one from a larger figure. |
