I have an extra Alt Skids that i been trying to sell with no luck so i was thinking about doing a custom with him. Ironhide and Ratchet have been done so many times with him so i was trying to think of something new.. So i remembered a car that i liked in the movie The Fast And Furious Tokyo Drift.
This kid owned a Volkswagen Touran Hulk Car.. I liked how it looked with the fists trying to punch through the sides of the car and then had a huge hulk face painted on the hood.. The Scion has a similar shape to the VW Touran so i thought it may work out pretty good.. The only problem i may have is how to do the Bot Mode and how to do the fists punching out of the sides and the huge foot on the trunk hatch. Also if anyone knows where i can find that Hulk image that is on the real car that would be great I do have a few ideas on how to do the fists.. One way is to actually cut some fists from some hulk toys or other large cheap figure and then sand them down and glue them to the sides and fill in the cracks.. Or i can try and heat up some thin plastic and push the fists of a hulk or other figure intot he plastic to get the same effect. Those would be te two best ways i think.. I dont want to go with just decals because it will be too flat.. Anyone know if they ever made a model toy of that hulk car? would be perfect to just cut up the model car lol . Anyways have a look at my digibash and see what ya think I also included pics of the real car to compare. Any suggestions are welcome Enjoy -Curt Last edited by PrimulArchangel; 11-30-2008 at 04:14 PM.. |

I'd suggest trying to find a Hulk whose hands are the right size, have those cast, and then cut and sand them down to fit on the door. To get the rest of the graphic right, you could print out a fist at the right angle on waterslide paper and then apply it trimming the parts off that will have the 3D fist.
Hope that gives you some ideas, and if you need help with the cast, let me know.

This is a great idea. What are you planning for the robot mode? Original character, or making it into an existing one? As for the fists, they seem to have the effect, as if the Hulk punched the door from the inside, leaving an impression, rather than an actual fist sticky out. So I would suggest you to get some type of sculpting putting(whatever you can find at the hobby shop), and sculpt it on, instead of using real toy hands. Since the impression isn't a detailed hand, you just need to give it the basic shape and not worry about fine details.

Yeah thats he is punching it from the inside, thats why the metal looks streched out .. I think i can get this same effect if i heat up some thin plastic like the stuff use for the bubbles on carded figures. If i heat some of that up i should be able to push a fist intot he heated soft plastic and get the same effect of the streched metal.. Then i can just cut and glue it to the car and fill in the gaps with some regular model glue.. If that dont work out, then ill go with making a mold. I just got to find the right size hulk to use. I dont collect figures like that so i dont know much about there scale size and such so ill have to go to the store and see how the new movie hulks measure up, i also need his foot as well for the back hatch.
As far as the bot mode paint theme goes.. I was thinking something along the lines of Springer. Since he is the only almost all green Bot that i remember the most i think it may work out pretty well.. I just finished a digibash of him so ill post a pic of him to show what im thinking so far.. It could all change though lol. Ill start this guy once i finish up some projects i got going on right now. |
