So I’m a huge fan of the 1:18 scale action figures and the Fantasy/Monsters/Mythical figures are some of my favorites but I don’t see a lot of conversation about them. So I thought I’d start up a general appreciation thread similar to the Marvel and DC ones. I’ll start off with a list of the lines I am aware of. I’m going to list them in alphabetical order for the most part.
Anyone else a huge fan of one or more of these genres of action figures? Am I missing any lines? I’d also love to see anyone’s customs but if you show your customs please mention that it is a custom in your post.

To kick this off lets start of with some Horror figures. Since it is October and Halloween is right around the corner this would be a good theme to begin with.

Here are some of the Universal Monster ReAction figures and the Horror ReAction figures.

My apologies. I was just adding those to assist other members with the checklists of figures I didn't post.

Mezco also released some Horror figures of Leatherface, Jason, and Freddy.

Freddy broke right out of the package. I need to get around to fixing him.
GI Joe for scale.

I understand. With the links in your signatures, readers can see what you have to offer. Your signature is your own little advertising space, of sorts. May I suggest adding in a few lines of text to explain what your links offer. That way, the more you post, the better chance people have of seeing the links.

All the best.

Some more classic monsters created for McFarlane's Monster playsets 2 packs back in 1998/1999.

2 Dr. Frankensteins and their monsters, Swamp Creature, Werewolf, Dracula, and the Phantom of the Opera.

AD&D: Advanced Dungeons And Dragons action figures by Ljn were the bee's knees to me as a child. I sold my set (of nearly all of the line) many years ago. Thanks to your post, I have begun tracking down the figures to potentially buy again....

I don't really collect vintage figures too often so I had intentionally omitted that line.

I reconsidered and added a vintage section at the bottom of the first post and added a couple of the lines I knew about.

Lets change gears a bit and look at some small fantasy figures released during the McFarlane Spawn era. These are a skeleton that came with Medusa, Iguanus, and an Ogre rider.

There is 6 figures in the line. 3 are orc styled figures and 3 are animal inspired knight figures.

GI Gandalf for scale.

Today's monster figure appreciation is Chimera and Hunter from the ToyBiz Resident Evil line. World War Hulk also doubles as a good orc figure and Chimera might make a good base for a Man-Spider custom.

Today's appreciation goes out to the new World of Nintendo Link and his lovely Princess Zelda from the Twilight Princess trading figures.

I do hope we get more Zelda figures in the World of Nintendo line.

The 4 Horsemen have created a new website for their Mythic Legions line coming to KS soon. I'm really excited for this line.

Mythic Legions

They have given all their characters names and bios as well.

I had thought they were going to have votes and such on what characters to make but KS might restrict that or they changed their mind.

Mezco released 5 figures in 2003 based on the movie Underworld. A lot of places have these listed as 4" figures but they are a little too big to fit in with most 1:18 figures. They all came with really cool little diorama pieces though. I sold off most of the figures I had but I did keep Raze the were-wolf.

Zombies are always a fan favorite and show up in the 1:18 scale quite frequently.

Here is the Queen Anne's Revenge zombie from the Pirates of the Caribbean 4 movie.

And there's lots more zombies out there for your hoard. A couple I can think of are:
GI Joe Zombie Viper
Davy Jones' crew from the 2 POTC movie line
Solomon Grundy from DC Injustice

For more zombies and other undead characters I have their species listed in the Archive as "undead". See links in my signature.
If you are into customizing, Angel Forge has some kits up for sale called Plague Wars as well as a lot of zombie heads.

Love the inclusion of Resident Evil figures. I pretty much have all the figures from the toy biz line, which is one of my favorites. Also I hope we get more Zelda world of Nintendo as well! Link is a great figure, especially since I found him at retail!

That Link is great. Much better than the one released in the Twilight Princess line. He is one of my all time video game characters so I was super ecstatic when he showed up. I lucked out and got him at retail right around the first week he was available. I have a custom TP version i have been working on for a couple years but I'm not too good at painting faces so I haven't finished him up. I found 2 more though and have the fire and water versions of him in the works.

Another line I can't recommend enough is the POSE Skeletons by Rement.
They were just released in Japan and are/were available on amiami.com

They are a bit small to be a 1:18 human skeleton (abour 3.5") but could work as a background filler or even a child or dwarf skeleton. They feature 10 revol style joints (neck, shoulders, hips, waist, knees, ankles), hinge elbows, swivel wrists, and a removable jaw. They can pretty much be put in any position you can think of. They also have a bunch of silly accessories like an articulated dog skeleton, tea table, toilet, construction equipment, casket, and some others.

Thank you for the Mythic Legions link. But I hope the prices are cheaper than the Vitruvian ones if they go the Kickstarter route too.

It'll be hard to tell how much they plan on selling them for. The Four Horsemen's prices for other similar lines range quite a bit depending on the character and how many paint apps they are using for that particular drop.

I would be surprised if they were less than $20 a figure though. We should know in a few months though. Hopefully they will have some incentives for purchasing the whole package or something similar to the All-in plan Boss Fight had.

I do find it of particular interest though that many of the Kickstarter campaigns that have been successful have been either 1:18 scale or fantasy/mythical based or both.

The Legends of Cthulhu line should be getting sent out in the next month or so. It will be pretty exciting to start seeing some of these action figure kickstarter to finally get their figures out to the public.

Today's figure appreciation can still be found at Toys R Us in their True Legends line. There is the Tree Warrior and a couple Orcs that are sold separately. The one shortfall of the Ent is that it isn't sculpted in the back and is just a hollow piece but it makes a really nice display piece. There is also the winged orc on the right. That figure is from the Bad Guys set from Early Learning Centre's Tower of Doom line and is just a statue piece.

Here is an older picture of me playing around with that Link custom I was talking about. I had to photo him from the back because of his horrible face painting.

Chap Mei is by far one of my favorite toy manufactures due to the awesome designs they have and the many fantasy based lines they have created throughout the years. This figure is the Orc Chieftain from one of their Knights lines.
