Let's use this thread as an all purpose discussion for new 1000Toys, Halo, Hellboy, and other collectibles in 2024. Some side chat is ok, just try to keep it focused on the new stuff!

$160 for a 1/12 figure? No thanks. I don't like Hellboy that much.

I do.
But I have no experience with 1000 Toys.
Does anyone know how they compare with Mezco?

Ridiculous..this company is ridiculous, Sure they have some good work but the cost is pure price gouge. I hope they go under eventually. Ridiculous.

Yeah, it is ridiculous. I dont understand why it has to be that much. But, I guess if there are people willing to pay it, that kind of answers my question.

Only saw their Halo figure and never bought it because it was also 160 + tax. There are YT reviews on it to draw as reference. Enjoy the purcahse and let us know.

I have to stick up for 1000toys here....

1. The old Mezco's are like ancient painted rocks compared to 1000toys finely made plastics, painting, and engineering. There are no better articulated Hellboy figures. Not even close.

2. Price is where it has to be whether we like it or not.

The quality is comparative to MAFEX figures. In my opinion, slightly better. Most Mafex figures are averaging $105-120 now. They started around the $70 mark. INFLATION/DEMAND/LIMITS.

Hellboy will not sell nearly as many units as the popular IP's Mafex is using like Marvel. Also, they don't make nearly as much product. Which means they have to charge more.
The Hellboy figure torso has a high quality rubber material to make it more articulated. Higher cost than regular plastic. (Example: Mattel Street Sharks 2024 new releases has an extremely thin rubber compared to the old vintage Street Sharks. Times have changed, the process and material is much more expensive than it used to be, yet the Hellboy figure still feels like quality long lasting rubber...it took Mezco like 4 years to accomplish the 1989 Batman rubber suit body...pretty sure they took a bath on that with the price they asked for them)

Demand. Direct Exclusive Hellboy figures, which are basically the same as this anniversary edition, are on the after market for at least $300.

LASTLY, ordering direct from 1000toys, NO SHIPPING COST, NO TAXES, $155 flat.

If you aren't into high quality action figures then it's not for you. For some reason these other collectors are chiming in as if this is a Target and Walmart release. Somehow they can't fathom something costing more than $15 dollars and have no clue what the difference is. They even complain when those prices went to $25. Hopefully this information quells the spread of ignorant misinformation that hurts the same business they claim to care about.

There are some people that will never understand the difference between a Mercedes and a Toyota, a Dell or a Mac, McDonalds or their own mothers home cooking...Ignore them.

Mafex is another one where I'm not seeing why it costs what it costs...even factoring in JPN prices. The few that I've purchased, I've either had terrible QC, or felt brittle to the touch or wasn't blown away like I was expecting( maybe that last one is more on me and my expectations than on the figure).

Yeah price gouge bull shit..no excusing it. It is exactly what it looks like. Greed. More power to them if it works out for them. People ripp off people all the time and some of those people being ripped off are complicit. So if you want it then get it. Maefx and SH are also greedy companies along with Square Enix.

Stop buying Mafex from 2nd hand stores like BBTS. I just got the Wolverine No.096 reissue for $55 from a Japanese website. Shipping is $8-$16 depending on the speed you want it. So the $71 I paid for the figure is significantly less than the $110+tax asked by stores like BBTS and EE. Even $71 is a bit much for these figs in my estimation, so 1000toys' $160+tax price can go screw themselves.

The new Mezco figures are great.
But that's a good recomendation for 1000 Toys.
I think I'm going to get it.

What about McDonald's and Eddie Murphy's mom's burgers?
Which one is better?

Point of curiosity: which ones did you get?

I was thinking the Mezco reference was for the 2005 stuff. There are no new mezco comic figures.

You got me on the Mama McMurphy's reference there! I concede. lol.

ALSO, don't expect any real answers from those other guys...I was going to waste a bunch of time...actually, why not...

BBTS is a 2nd hand store???? $71 is still too much for a MAFEX Wolverine?

What "Japanese Website"? We’d all like to know. Also, $55 for a Wolverine reissue on a random Japanese website would be a rare special circumstance… Even if your "deal" were 100% accurate, it was a Japanese website that acquired a couple units to sell at a super discounted price, or acquired way too many and decided to sell a few super discounted, to attract customers. It’s called promotion with an even cost break. That’s not normal, and could never be normal, because the company and stores would never make any money.

But, I don't believe any of the exaggerations any way. I'll bet on that right now. It's like when you say $160 plus tax for the Hellboy Figure. I already pointed out, because I actually bought the figure, it's $155 with NO TAX and NO SHIPPING COST, if you buy from 1000toys website. So you are at least $17 off the actual price and giving no credit to the company located in another country for shipping FREE. A fee which you can assume, using your exaggerated numbers, not real ones, is anywhere from $8-$16.

Wolverine is one of the world's most popular characters. The Mafex figure with a reissue, a body that can be used for multiple re-deco’s and other characters, is less intensive to produce than other more detailed figures, has so many movies, tv shows, comics, and currently a movie with a $550 million dollar box office, the last bellboy movie was a flop and the one before that goes back to 2008, would always be overall less expensive than other figures.

It’s best to stick to what you know and try to be happy. Your account complaining all the time about prices is projecting your own unhappiness with life. Ignore the things you can’t handle emotionally. It’s not good to destroy others because of your own problems.

You know you can get these figures for way cheaper if you order from a Japanese website

I guess i missed the rest of the discurse that went on here lol. It's pretty funny seeing that one guy trying to be a condescending import elitist...or maybe he's just a dick...or maybe a bit of both.

I got off the import kick a while back myself but still dabble with Storm...and even then, i can admit still not really worth their inflated base price even though they are great looking figures that handle nicely
