No, that's not what I'm saying. You can state your opinion. I just wish people didn't feel the need to be so... aggressive about things they don't enjoy. It's one thing to not enjoy something, but it's a whole other thing to degrade it and those that enjoy it for no real purpose.

I don't enjoy Masters of the universe, but I don't feel the need to go into MotU discussions just to belittle those that do enjoy it.

But... but... Green Hornet is the exact opposite of this show. Green Hornet was made to make people forget the Adam West Batman, by taking a similar concept and making a serious show out of it.

Which is also why I find it insulting that they let Seth Rogen do GH last year. Did they decide that since we have comic accurate Batman movies finally that it was okay to Adam West Green Hornet?

Sorry, but I cannot ignore something that I think is an embrassment to the entire Batman franchise like this. It is bad enough DC still allows Batman & Robin to be sold, but it was a happy time when it was said this show would never be released.

They're both great shows! It doesn't matter if they're opposite of each other, we like what we like! We like serious things, yet also lighthearted things! I understand why you're not a fan of 60's Batman but a lot of people are. And a lot of those people are fans of Batman's mythology, all of it.

I hate Schumacher's Batman and Robin. Can't stand it. The Adam West's Batman is like The Dark Knight compared to it. I'm not sure I know of anyone who likes it, outside of Schumacher, but I'm sure someone out there does like it. Though, while it seems to be universally despised, 60's Batman isn't. That's why it's still in syndication and why WB and 20th Century Fox struck a deal, because a lot of people like it.

Sadly I doubt this will develop into much...

Today is a good day for small-minded idiocy apparently. Just because you're unable to appreciate a humorous interpretation of Batman in no way makes it bad.

Plus the show does less harm for the comic medium than the comic medium does to itself. If you tried to explain Final Crisis and its Batman-related fall-out to a non-fan they'd think you were making a really bad joke.

Sure, there were comics of Batman that had a fun side. They did a great job of featuring that in The Brave and the Bold cartoon, but they were still far more intellectual than what the shit Adam West gave us. Hell, I don't remember Batman ever having a gut in the comics even during its goofy years.

And I am not basing my Batman off the Nolanverse and the Arkham games. I am basing off my Batman from the Denny O'Neil, Neal Adams, Dick Giordano, and Len Wein era in the 70s when Batman was brought back to being what he was supposed to be. And in case you did not realize this, that is the era that a lot of the Nolanverse and Batman the Animated Series were taken from.

The only way I will approve of this series coming out on DVD is if they change its title to Batfake, since that is what it is.
Hahaha! Relax. And don't feel sorry for me. I had a great childhood, thanks to great actors like West who "got" that Batman could be fun and lighthearted. It wasn't the lowest common denominator--far from, in fact. I grew up reading the same comics, movies, and animated shows as you Kain. I may have started with the Super Friends, but I graduated to Batman the Animated Series and embraced Burtons Dark Knight as well as Nolan's (it's just too easy to make fun of Bale's voice though). I also enjoyed Brave and Bold which seemed to "get" West's interpretation and still bring something new.

The difference being, I can appreciate multiple interpretations. You seem to be quite wound up about it though. Best of luck to you.

Also worth noting that those three seasons totaled 120 episodes (to Green Hornet's 26), which was far more than even the fan-loved Batman: The Animated Series. Plus it would have had a fourth season on NBC if not for the sets being destroyed beforehand.

Holy Merchandise Batman!

I'm so happy this is going to happen! My gosh I do hope we can finally get the DVD of the series. A Cesar Romero Joker Action figure with his thin painted moustache will be epic!

Cool. Now make a 6" Classic looking Penguin so I don't have to spend eBay prices for the DCUC version.
