Woot!
I went to target this morning and found two Doctor Stranges (color) and two Falcons- I also bought a Scarlett Spider for his awesome new skinny body (with rocker ankles, baby!). He'll become an Sh'Iar Imperial Guardsman (Impulse, probably).
They also had Skarr but really, i could care less.
Saw Doom too- no difference from the SW version: I was hoping we'd get a Doom: 2099 version as a variant but I guess it's one variant per wave or something. I was also hoping for a 70's masked Doctor Strange or maybe a Strange Tales costume Doctor Strange (blue cape with square amulet). Have we ever got more than one variant per wave?

But man! Doctor Strange is THE BEST MARVEL UNIVERSE FIGURE so far!
I have the Astral variant but the color version just couldn't be better.

Falcon kicks total ass too! Amazing likeness and he's a black man that looks heric without becoming some awful Mr. T street thug stereotype (I'm looking at you Cage!)

AND I can cancel my BBTS order- I'll e-mail them to explain that their lateness cost them this time.

SO, I know what you're thinking: "Darn, I was really hoping to hook Jason up after all the stuff he's done for us Arkers! Now I'll have to wait untill the next wave or maybe give him Herbie."

I'm PMing a couple Arkers about those extras I bought, but if they dont need them...

Anyone else feel kinda...great...not having to look for anything you need?
I'm feeling awesome knowing that I have Doctor Strange and can stop getting annoyed on a daily basis at BBTS for not shipping my case, and i know that my GotG set and Darkhawk wave are preordered.

I can stop looking alltogether for a while.

Nice find. I went to target this morning because someone said they would have it restocked by morning. But nothing.

Nice find! I agree that it actually does feel nice in those rare times where there's nothing you really feel like you have to be constantly searching for so that you don't miss your one chance to get it.

Congrats on the score!

Your Scarlet Spider has rocker ankles?!?! Is this some other dumbass running change? ..because mine sure doesn't.

As far as feeling good when you're caught up,.. agreed, but I almost feel lost or confused when there's no reason for me to run into Target on my way home from work.

My bad- it's my Doctor Strange that has the rocker ankles- I thiught SS did too but he does now.
Is that a new buck for SS? seems thinner than the Skrull or BLcak Spidey body...could just be the red plastic, I suppose.
Also odd, the base dor SS sats "Spider-Man" not "Scarlett Spider". Maybe they'll do a running change and put him in his Spidey costume.
I always loved the weapons and equipment upgrades Ben Riley made to compensate for his not having the 10 years or so of combat experience Peter had- and was so disapointed Peter did not keep them after Ben was killed.
Now to cut all that stuff off him and put it in my Box O' Marvel Crap I'll Never Need.
Maybe next to Namor's goofy trident or Cage's silly dew rag.
Cage should have come with his baby in a backpack or something.

Looking at it, i do still need the K-Mart Cap set and Herbie...that Invisible Woman would be nice too, but I have two things and a nice custom Reed already.
I guess if someone sent me an X-Force Archangel, I'd be okay with that.

This.

It's incredibly weird when the wife and I go on road trips to see family and I'm just passing by stores.. Ha

Yep, variant stands. One does say Scarlet Spider, one says Spider-Man, don't know the reasoning behind that but whatever. If anything, it creates a reason for people to leave that figure behind at the store because it doesn't say "Scarlet Spider", especially since it's the RARE variant that says Scarlet Spider. Now why would you go and do a thing like that? It's counter productive to make the unpopular item the common one and the popular one the uncommon. You're trying to force a double sale to hardcore collectors. That's almost as dumb as releasing a discoloured variant of a Sentinel as the mass produced version... oh wait, Hasbro's already done that.

Doctor Strange's Astral variant is the best- it's translucent!
That's a little somethin' for the fans, right there.

Us MU collectors got it good I've never seen a line that makes variants on purpose for alternate costumes or whatever.
You'd think GI Joe would be all over that idea.

The DCU and Young Justice could make variants that dont suck.
That would be something- variants with articulation and good sculpts!
Matbe a "Super posable" green Lantern with more than five points of articuation....

I don't know this feeling. It never ends. You think you are caught up, and then a new variant surfaces, or new comic packs, and on and on. You will never be complete until the day hasbro ditches the 3.75 lines, which certainly isn't going to be any time soon.

Tad off topic, but speaking of stand variant spidey, isn't Skaar's stand supposed to have a variant too? What does others' say? Every one in my store said "Son of Hulk".

My problem is I'm looking for 2 much and trying to be a completist. I ambitiously would love to have every MI,ML,MU and Iron Man figure. I have 3 examples of having the trifecta.. I have Ironman, nightcrawler and Colossus in 12'',6'' and 3 3/4'' scale and it's fun seeing almost identical molds in different sizes.

I'm a completest too. But I'm glad it's only with the MU line

Wait a minute,.. there's a Scarlet Spider "variant" that is a variant because they put the wrong name on the stand? Seems dumb. I thought making a version of Cable that literally comes with less items in the package was the dumbest thing they've done, but this is right up there. I like variations sometimes, but I usually just want the better of the two versions. Something like the Skaar vs. Son of Hulk stand; I'd be cool with either, but something like no Hope over having an option, and the wrong name on the stand, is just asinine.

When Jason posted that his Scarlet Spider had rocker ankles and a Spiderman stand I just figured he stopped somewhere for Happy Hour after he scored that haul

So this one I have is the rarer of the two? So dumb... the rare one is the correct one. Incredible if that's true.

Well the Marvel Icons really doesn't have that many figures to collect, especially if you don't need/want the variants the only trouble is they're big heavy toys and aren't cheap to ship especially MOC, and select figures such as Captain America, Ghost Rider and Hulk all are around the $100 range. ML are cheaper on average per figure but factor in the BAF aspect, variants and the average 1-2 figure per wave which goes for double trippl retail, similar to MU. MU is the best for shipping, but a lot of variants, exlusives and don't get me started on them damn mail in figures.

I dont know from rare, but if you want the base, it's yours.
Scarlett Spider has already become "one with the parts bin".
You'll be glad to know that he have his all so the Black Knight custom could have a baldrick (I think that's what the cloth chest covering is called).
You know why SS sucks? They used that crappy light red plastic from the Spider-Man line for him!
If he was molded in the dark red of Spider-Woman, his fate might have been less tragic.
