Both of those were damn good. I'd take another season of Renegades over another movie any day of the week.

I would too. It'd be great if Renegades was given a second chance like Young Justice.

While I enjoyed some of the re-imagining of characters in Renegades (such as Firefly's pyromania and Zartan being the biker who loved to taunt people with bad impersonations,) the series lost me at Ripcord becoming Agent Venom midway through the season.

Resolute was amazing, but my issue of it was that it was TOO resolute, with the way characters were flat out killed in such a short time. I'd like to see it come back, but also scaled back a bit to something more akin to The Clone Wars cartoons, which made character deaths more meaningful by having a longer narrative.

My guess is that G.I.Joe is taking a break in Hollywood until the M.A.S.K. movie gets made for the new "Hasbro-verse". Hopefully when they do get around to it, we get a lot less Snake Eyes and Stormshadow nonsense, and more Joe vs. Cobra action.

this is where I believe the real answer lies. hasbro announced how they were rebuilding their universe into a cohesive continuity. I believe 6 inch will happen but first things first. Which is a movie. Once they can do a movie, they will build the toys. I think the big diff between GI joe and Transformers is the global appeal. Transformers will make money in China, GI Joe???? More ninja's please...

Then the toys will happen

Less ninjas please. The show was never about the Joe's struggles to protect the world from ninjas. It was about their mission to protect the freedom against Cobra, a ruthless terrorist organization determined to rule the world.

As fun as the fight seen was in "Retaliation," it took up far too much time in the film and really added little to nothing to it in terms of advancing the story and was largely irrelevant. I will argue that Snake Eyes and Storm Shadow are just a small part of the Joe universe, and in the original cartoon series were not really that important to begin with. The most memorable thing you will see Snake Eyes do in the original show was dressed like Boy George and breakdance with a two stepping wolf, while Storm Shadow will be repeatedly defeated in combat by Spirit, not his mortal childhood enemy Snake Eyes.

I remember the original teaser poster for the next Joe movie featuring the Arashikage logo, which left me groaning in disgust. Hopefully, since the series is being rebooted, this will be something that they rethink so they can get back to the real enemy at hand, which is and always has been Cobra Commander and Cobra.

THAT!

It's G.I.Joe, not G.I.Ninjas. Snake-Eyes was a commando first, the ninja stuff did't come out until Storm Shadow. While I do find the ninja stuff cool, but I agree that it should be a side story, the main theme of G.I.Joe should go back to its root: MILITARY.

I never understood why all the ninjas were pushed so hard. Then again growing up Flint was always my favorite character so maybe they just weren't my cup of tea.

They do make for great custom fodder though. I can't deny that.

The only ninjas GI Joes needs are Storm Shadow, Snake-Eyes, Jinx, and the Red Ninja Clan. That's it.

That may have been the case for the Sunbow cartoon, but in the later days of the comics, it was all ninja, all the time. At one point it was "Snake Eyes and GI Joe" on the cover. I'm not saying this was a high point, but the ninja heavy theme didn't come out of a vacuum. It's canon.

Although the movies aren't very well received, I would love to see some figures from at least Retaliation (My favourite of the two) in this scale, like Cobra Commander, Snake Eyes, Storm Shadow, a Red Ninja, Cobra Footsoldier.

I feel like one of a few people that actually wanted to see these movies get rounded up in one final third movie before a reboot, with a mix of characters from the 1st and 2nd. Maybe when there's a reboot somewhere down the line it could be a mix of movie/comic/cartoon figures like the Marvel Legends.

Renegades definitely had some stuff they should look into for the movies, though they tried with Retaliation to go for Renegades feel.

One of the things I liked about Renegades though was the tech advancements and the introduction of the Ninja BATs, and the cyber ninja arashikage armor. Sadly all stuff that hasn't really gotten figures in any scale except for the old Sigma 6 line.

A new movie should continue to build the world they've started. Retaliation has given them a reason to rebuild it more towards the GI Joe people know from the toon while keeping it updated.

While the movies get a lot of flack, they did have a lot of faithful stuff to it. Scifi tech, world building. Starting the origins of Joe and building on it. Zartan as a disguise expert, Cobra taking over the country, we got to see the beginning of Destro with a decent excuse to recast since his head will be CG now anyway with likely a deeper voice.

Baroness could have used some better work, but it did kind of get the whole aspect of Destro's obsession and perversion with her done right. The movies were pretty accurate to the franchise as a whole, even mixing in some of the toon additions to the story like Cobra Commander's first battle suit that he used in the later toon was what he had before the iconic suit people knew of his. They mention that in the toon even when he switches to it. That it was an older suit of his.

While 6'' GI Joe would be interesting, I think there's a lot in the 3.75'' they can still do to bring it more forward again. Ideally, I'd like to see both happen.

Let the 3.75'' line experiment and cover some of what's missing on the recent additions and other new things, while starting a Legacy 6'' line that caters to the toon icons.

So this way the 1:18th collectors can get the rest of what they want like Cyber Ninja Jinx, Baroness with her power gloves from renegades, the Sigma 6 BATs and Ninja BATs, the android serpentor, the movie actors and actresses that get added to the films, Milla Jovovich, Vin Diesel, Michelle Rodriguez and more would rock in this scale for a lot of fans of various franchises and it's what made the Bruce Willis figure so enticing too! Which was one of the great things of the first and second movie on toy releases as well.

Maybe even test out a Hasbro United line to let Rom shine some, and create some new backpack types that can work with other Hasbro property gear for the 3.75'' fans. Have some more design fun like Ashiko was.

GI Joe is a great excuse to get some 1:18th scale great figures and fun concepts.

But for the ardent license dedicated people that want the icons, sure why not test a 6'' line, see how it does, and slowly build on that as special releases. It worked for other lines, but it shouldn't stop the creative fun of the 1:18th scale either. As troop builders go, and various fun character types, it was a great way for 1:18th scale fans to bolster their ranks of figures. I absolutely loved the limited release spec-ops suit releases too. They fit right in as SHIELD troop builders and also gave more in demand releases like a troop builder zombie pack.

And to be honest, that first movie Impact Armor Scarlett is a basis for a lot of customs I still want to do, so I'd absolutely love for that buck to get re-released with new sculpted heads. Same to the Wraith figure, and Ashiko with bike would have been a hit at stores if it made it to them outside of outlet shops. They should finish the retail releases of Cobra-La too, which should definitely get the 6'' treatment as well.

While 6'' would be neat for those that want it, it'd have to test the market slowly. So while that's going on, they should release the high demand 1:18th figures alongside some re-releases, and definitely keep the movies more 1:18th, with maybe some 6'' releases. 1:18th for actor likeness material seems to sell really well though, and even the nodding figures did extremely well. Like the Chuck Norris and Rambo look-a-likes.

Power gloves Baroness from Renegades and Cyber Ninja Jinx are definitely high up on my personal want list in 1:18th though. So I hope they keep the 1:18th line going and further expand it to cover other characters from the Hasbro character library as a whole. They've got quite a lot that could do well, from Rom, MASK, Transformers, Inhumanoids, and more.

Maybe they should look towards the robocop and tron legacy lines as an example of release pattern. Limited 6'' offerings as collector focused to test the market for demand and sales strength, and then wider ranging 1:18th releases that fill in the gaps of what's missing and also draws in newer fans.

Honestly only if it was CLASSIC GI Joe. As in ww2 soldiers and such. Those kinds of figures are really lacking in this scale

The problem with gi joe being in 1/12th form is that one of their main draws is vehicles. In the 6 inch scale thats more money than i think most collectors are willing to drop, especially given what star wars vehicles and critters go for at retail in that scale.

I guess at the time fans didn't want anything out of the 3.75" scale so the line died.

Problem is GI Joe figures don't exist outside of the club at all. The fact there still aren't any 3.75" figures out there doesn't bode well for anything 6" coming. The Star Wars collectors have a very vocal 3.75" community, but there are many who love the 6". You got an untapped market at this point of 3.75" Joe collectors, and at least in my opinion GI Joe is the king of 3.75" figures. If the line that started super posable 3.75 figures unable to get modern super posable 3.75" out to market 6" isn't a risk Hasbro will take.

Also part of the reason GI Joe, a number of times in the past, became difficult to sell to retailers was the changing political climate on guns and war. Things today are worse than before, you got hoardes of online lynch mobs ready to tear Hasbro's image down for selling an entire toy line surrounded around war and including realistic weapons with thier figures. The last thing Hasbro needs is an attack because they included an AR-15 looking rifle with a toy. Look at Marvel Legends! We got all these goofy Nerf guns with most figures. Spider-Man Noir came with space guns instead of real world guns.

I saw them and went, "Holy shite! Bigger Joes! Then I actually LOOKED at them". The excitement was very short-lived.

I don't buy anything from Hasbro, but if they make a G.I. Joe: RAH line similar to the Marvel or the larger Star Wars ones, I'd bite. But only RAH.
