I just wanted to let everyone know about this Collect and Connect Figure STEL. I only learned about him 2 weeks ago looking at the Back of the Box of Star Sapphire. The only thing that came to mind was "Damn, that looks Awesome." I rarely collect anything DC, I'm a Marvel Geek mostly, That's why I wanted to post some pics of this figure, because if I didn't see him on the back of that Box I would have totally missed out. Went the direct route ebay, and got every piece to complete him. He's mostly a B Character in the Green Lantern Comics, but he's a Badass Robot with Green Lantern Powers, That's all I need to know for him to be my Favorite Green Lantern Now.

Only two weeks ago?

Where have you been living? In a trash dumpster on the moon?

I don't collect DC Universe Figures, I just pass them by most of the time. And I haven't seen anyone here mention him. There are still a lot of Marvel Collectors out there I'm sure would love to know about this figure.

He's been mentioned a bit in the DCUC threads and a lot in the GL threads. And yeah, he's my second favorite C&C figure.

All together, around 60 bucks, but some people had the whole figure for about 50. I thought I could get a lower price by bidding. I was wrong, people want this figure BAD. It still cheaper then getting every single figure in the wave, that will run you about 100 bucks.

$50 for a BAF is pretty common my way- I'd buy him for that- he looks freaking awesome!

I'm a sucker for everyone in the Corps that's not human- give me Stel, Bzzt and Isamot over those Earthers any day!

I just started looking into the Green Lantern comics, and I also find the non-human green lanterns more interesting. Hopefully after the movie, they will give some of them a One-Shot Comic to really get into the Characters.

Dont know wbaut your area but the Green Lantern Corps backissues are all cover price (or less!) and feature the non-human charcaters.
It's also, by far, the best written and drawn GL book ever EVER.
I say this as a GL fan for over 20 years!

Very cool to read through the Sinestro Corps War run of that title and learn bit by bit some of the Guardians' dirty secrets.

Hmmm...no, I dont think so. Closest thing to an all Stel story was him leading his machine people against Sinestro's corps -which left him only a torso driftng through space untill the Corps found him, recharged his ring and he rebuilt himself into this form.
He used to look pretty clunky, really.

Stel is currently the GL Corps trainer/drll seargent since Kilowog sttepped down after Blackest Night.

After the research I did on the STEL, I figured that was the case. I really want to see a one-shot in his current form. It will make me appreciate the figure even more. DC comics should get around to it sooner or later. Thanks for the info.

I would heavily suggest the TPB, Blackest Night: Tales of the Corps, Nako.
It's a collection of backstories for members of the various corps.
For Green Lantern, a story dedicated to Kilowog, and another story to Arisa.
Bleez of the Red Lanterns
Blume of the Orange
Mongul of the Sinestro Corps
Saint Walker of the Blue
A tale of the Indogo Tribe
Carol Ferris of the Star Sapphire
Nekron, Black Hand, and Superboy Prime round out the rest.

It's a pretty good variety of stories about lanterns other than Jordan, Rayner, Stewart, and Gardner.

Thanks, I'll look into that. Btw, has there ever been an explaination for why there are so many Green Lanterns from Earth, In the comics anyway?

I just can't wait to see what the customizers will do with him. He'll make a fantastic Sentinel or Titanium Man.

You hit the nail on the head with titanium man, I could see that being done but then again, hasnt this been out for a while? I would have expected to see those customs already.

Jordan was the first. When he was drafted, there was only one lantern per sector, and the corp was not really allowed to interact with one another.
I think given how Sinestro was running his sector, unwatched, prompted the guardians to decided they needed two per sector.
I'm still fairly new, so I'm still iffy on Stewart and Gardner.
Rayner came in after the corp was destroyed by Parallax. From his ring, Ganthet recreated the corps. Stewart came back in (Maybe Gardner? I don't know) as Rayner's partner. Then the other one got another ring. Then Jordan was brought back to life.
As it stands here and now (Where I'm the most familier), Jordan and Stewart are the lanterns for sector 2816. Gardner and Rayner are Honorguard, and get sent to help where they're needed. They're stationed on Oa, while the other two are stationed on earth.

Thanks for the info again. That answered some of my questions. Hope all of that history is still intact after the relaunch.

I live in Atlanta, I hunt pretty often and only saw 2 Figures from this wave at Wal-mart 2 weeks ago. That's the first time I even knew this figure existed. Of course I'm more of a Transformers, Anime Mecha, Marvel collector to start with.

Earth has so many, because the 2814 sector keeps getting ousted and replaced.

Originally even after sinestro, there was only one lantern per sector. Hal was stripped of his ring for some reason, so it went to gardner, then hal came back so the ring went from gardner to hal again. Then stewart got a ring from a crazy guardian who made a colony planet thing of many species. The guardians didn't know what to do about it, so they left them there with Stewart keeping order, which eventually led to him becoming an honorary guardian. Then Hal went nuts, killed everyone, and only ganthet got away, who found Kyle rayner in a club alleyway and said "He'll have to do" so kyle became the lone GL. During this time, Gardner went to a yellow ring weilder, then to a red warrior thing, then back to human. Stewart went from GL to guardian to darkstar, then paralyzed, then hal restored his ability to walk during final night.

All 3 after hal died used to drink at warriors for nostalgia. Eventually as the spectre hal joined them.

When the corps was reborn, they all came back to being lanterns because of their service. Now the new corps does a partner setup per sector. Kyle and Guy being honor guards that stay on OA, and Stewart with hal being 2814/earth.

The rebirthed corps came after Final Night from either a secondary ring kyle got on a time travel romp, or the ion power he absorbed from near the sun. It's around that entire original Ion arc that I dropped the title. Kyle used all that power to fix the corps and trick his ring out. It's also around when he proposed to Jade with a GL ring making her one of the first new members. During final night is when Hal died in an act of redemption about Zero Hour. it wasn't until about 10 years (give or take) later after final night they raised hal from the dead as his own GL again. Prior to that, he was atoning by being the Spectre.

It's far more complicated than that, but that's the reader digested to explain it. Looking back now, I'm starting to see why they are relaunching actually. xD that's just the last 20 or 30 years.

So basicly it went like this:
Abin Sur -> Hal -> Guy Gardner -> Hal -> Stewart -> Hal -> Kyle -> all 4

Thanks for the correction, Snow.
As much as I love the current GL Universe set up, with the Blue Lanterns, Indogo Tribe, Sinestro and Sapphire Corps and all of them, I definately agree it needs a soft reboot and start fresh.

Though maybe reboot with everything largely in place, and a somewhat adjusted mythology behind it.
