This was one of the main things that was said on the board that made me lose a bit of interest in getting AOA.
"Strommy: David really wants to create a credible world. The focus is now on the humans vs. the mutants, though, instead of good mutants vs. bad mutants, as with past Age of Apocalypse stories." Agent M: @Exodus But here, the mutants are in complete control. The struggle is reversed and it's a very harsh reality. Anyone going to get this book when it comes out? The original Age of Apocalypse was my favorite storyline when it came out. There had never been anything like it, on it's scope and scale before.
However, Marvel's done at least half a dozen simular events since, and their return to the AoA was a complete failier, IMO. The return to it wasn't anywhere near as fun as the original story was. For me, AoA ended when it was intended to. When Blink was taken into the Exiles, Apocalypse killed, America nuked into oblivion, and Bishop travelling back in time to make sure it never happens. Sometimes things are more fun for me when it sticks to the way the writers intended it to be.

I think everyone needs to take a step back and actually answer the OP's question instead of questioning each other. The thread's been moved, let it go.
Speaking of which, I probably won't pick AoA up myself. But I will try to keep a bullet-point list of the events as they come. Not because of the story or anything, just not enough money or time for me to collect comics anymore. Marriage and fatherhood will do that, you know.

I think I would be interested in a return to the AoA if it were a "Tales from the Age of Apocalypse" storyline. Stories that take place before the fall of Apocalypse, and before Bishop and Magneto set in motion his downfall.
It would be a great reason to get Scott Lobdell to come back.

I have heard little about it since I don't do they X-books anyone have good info on it? I read the original when it came out in the nineties but if it is just the same thing or just "tales from" I might give it a miss. I have thought about getting a couple of the X-books but not sure where to jump in.
