A few months ago, I bit the bullet and got the DC Comics Masters of the Universe mini-series. I thought it had a really fantastic premise, though I think there were some missteps along the way. Overall, I enjoyed it enough to at least start on the MOTU ongoing series.

So now that the first issue is out, did anyone else read it? What did you think?

My thoughts - Spoilers if you didn't read it
Good premise. Liked that it's picking up where the mini-series left off. Some good stuff between Man At Arms and Adam, and like the idea of Teela not liking the Sorceress and kinda being glad she's dead. Gives a nice bit of tension to what has normally be portrayed as a "too cohesive" group in other takes on the fiction.

I did have two problem with the issue itself though. The "reveal" at the end was telegraphed from the first panel. Didn't like that it was too easy to call. It's already a series where people are going to be in "barely there" outfits, did we really need Teela stripping down to her undies as she's walking with three guys, one of whom was her father? Stuff like that just kills the flow of what was a solid issue for me.

Otherwise, I enjoyed it. Like how it's starting, the art is done well enough and I like that these guys are aiming to actually kill their enemies.

Ok, got the second issue. Nope, think I'm done. Writing was really abysmal this issue and the two main characters (He-Man and Teela) are just plain unlikeable.
