I want this to go with my Alien figures from NECA. However, the price is way too high for me. I couldn't even pay half of that.

My thoughts exactly. Having a few Nostromo suit characters around that would be awesome (and fun to do a shoot with). $600 is just too much for me to justify. Once I get around the $300-$400 mark, my wife starts to give me the stink eye.

Agreed. I want this for my Neca scene, but that price is out of hand. Sideshow has been increasing prices faster and steeper than any other company. My first starwars 1/6 scale was $50 from them, now they push close to $300. I love their premium format items but again, they started around $250 now they just showed of the new court of the dead at $600. They have priced me out. To bad,but other companies will get my money now. |

Prometheus destroyed this for me. Now, all I can think of is those stupid black-suited Michelin Men. Previously, I would have jumped on it.

It's a matter of shattered preconceptions and expectations. I always envisioned the Engineers as something truly alien based on the remains in that chair, much more in the spirit of alien-ness manifested in Giger's original creation. For me, it was disappointing to see the Space Jockey reduced to a spacesuit for the Michelin Man. I look on the movie as profiteering through demystification and anthromorphization, and hate it for that reason (among others). Scott took something really artistic and cutting-edge and dumbed it down. JMHO.

Thanks for understanding. It's a classic dispute, like criticism of the Anakin prequels and their effect on the Star Wars franchise. This does looks like a good replica, if only I had room for it... |

Meh, if you say so. I personally can't wait for Paradise to come out so we can learn more about the Engineers.
