Gah! The photos made me check out the cheapest price for the black Queen and now I think I'm buying it, so this could be next!

I take it the rocks in the pics are from the diorama print you get? Looks awesome.

Yeah, the space rocks are on the Red Queen printout. Probably will use that for future Alien shoots from time to time. The regular Queen comes with a LV-426 themed backdrop.

Excellent, thanks for the info! I ordered the regular Queen in the end, not that I even have any space to display it yet

"Barely need to use the stand" - is that a difference between the last one? I didn't jump to get that one because of seemingly needing to use the stand to pose it.

The joints seemed tighter here. Takes a little more messing around to get my original Queen to not use the stand, as the ankles are a bit looser on that one. The Red Queen I was basically able to set it and go.

To be fair the original design of the Queen really can't stand up without support. I suppose thinking of it as an actual living creature one can imagine it capable of shifting weight blah blah blah but even the puppet used for filming required a lot of effort to keep upright since all of the weight is at the head and arms.

Yea, that's my main reason of not getting it. I mean, I want it, but I feel they will release a more stable version that doesn't need a stand. That crest just makes it too top heavy from all the reviews I've seen. I suppose when I get the power loader I could pose that with the queen and they'd end up holding each other up in a fight scene, but I've been holding off for now.

It does come with a stand if you fear it falling over. It can sit in multiple spots on the underside of the Queen. They are on the second production run of the original Queen as well, so I'm not sure if joints are a bit tighter there.
