PSA – No In-Person Exclusives From Hasbro at SDCC 2022

Waiting for full scoop, but looks like either pre-order there/online, or buy there online via terminals and ship to home.

Great news! Frees up time for people attending the convention (I won't be going this year) and also cuts down on stuff to carry around the convention and back home. I'm embarrassed to say that I've had times when I completely filled my car with exclusives (trying to cut down now) and this would have saved a lot of time and energy.

It might take some of the fun out of it, but this is the way to go. So much more practical.

I'm the opposite and think it's crap and hope it's just one more covid delay thing. I shouldn't have to pay shipping for an item I could've bought in person at the Con.

"No in person exclusives at SDCC"...

Translation: "We don't have any that will be available in time for the con, and won't be ready for another 14 months, unless you are a social media influencer."

Truthfully, I was relieved when I read this a couple of hours ago. Paying con attendee mark-ups has become so very passe... heh

Perhaps pulse will be offering the Obi-Wan/Vader Concept pack then, since disney screwed the pooch.

Yeah, saw this on the 'tank a couple of hours ago and I couldn't be happier. I don't really have time to attend conventions, and being able to actually get this stuff at retail prices over the last year or two has spoiled me. I don't at all look forward to the return of convention exclusives.

Good, I hope this becomes a thing of the past for all companies, for those of us living outside the USA con exclusives are just a huge disappointment, especially if it’s from a line you are collecting, other than hopping on a plane our only option is scalpers.

A major problem I see with this is that previous convention exclusives were usually also offered through (international) partners afterwards, whereas their retard HasbroPulse webshop is available in exactly 4 countries around the world (US+Canada, UK and Germany... that's it). Unless they continue offering their convention exclusives through 3rd party partners as well (especially in countries where HasbroPulse is not available, which is basically most of the world), which I honestly doubt very, very much, I myself would consider this a major step backwards. In other words, if you live somewhere else you are now screwed. The latest HasLab projects are a nice example of this new policy. Before you could get them through some selected partners, now no longer. Way to go, once again, Hasbro... where fans come last.

Actually, living in Europe, I've to say the last couple of years have not been that bad as Hasbro finally seemed to have discovered the world outside the US and offered most convention exclusives (not their Pulse exclusives unfortunately) through partners. But I'm afraid that now that they have decided to go full blown HasbroPulse, which is not available in most countries, this will no longer be an option. :s

Well, it's fortunate there is nothing at pulse worth owning this time around.

That guy's pretty cool. Say, are you two related?!?! You have the same last names!

I'd like to do the same, except I can already imagine my wife's eyes bugging out when she sees the charge for the $300 for mine, she'd murder me if she sees $1500, even if I tell her someone will pay me back, for she won't believe me! Ha ha.
