Hi,
I've been a lurker on this site for a while (it's one of the few sites I can look at at work!), and a thread on UK collectors prompted me to finally register. I'm a Transformers fan first and foremost - I've got most of the G1 stuff from 1984 and 85 plus most animal G1 Transformers (hence the username). I also collect figures from the Classics Universe and am looking forward to the new Generations stuff. I started collecting Star Wars Transformers (a relatively cheap way of getting some of the best vehicles I reckon), then started getting Star Wars Miniatures as they go well in scale and you can get pretty much any character. I then investigated Heroclix as a way of getting Marvel/DC figures in the same scale, found they were rubbish (thought I think they've improved) and then found out about a couple of new lines called Marvel Universe and Infinite Heroes and so have been collecting them ever since. I haven't read too many comics so tend to focus on characters that have been in the cartoons or movies. An exception to that is the Batman stoy Knightfall from the early 90's - because of this I'm getting the DC Universe figures Azrael and CAC Bane. I also dabble in other lines - Power Rangers - the Dino Megazord plus Titanus and Dragonzord when we get them, the 5" Nintendo figures (patiently waiting for the second wave), I hope to get the Ghostbusters II figures that are coming this Xmas (I've got the NECA Stay Puft), I've got the NECA Turtles plus I'm hoping for some good Thundercats figures next year. Oh and I've got a complete set of Earthworm Jim figures from the mid 90's! Pretty much I want to get a toy of every character I liked as a kid! Cheers, Primacron |

^ Seconded, and welcome to the Toyark!
I really like the Star Wars Transformers as well. There are some crap ones, but at least their vehicle modes are spot-on. I think because of those, the whole line gets a bad rap. But I think there are some real gems buried in the rubbish, if one is willing to look. Have you picked up Yoda yet? One of the best of the newest wave, IMHO. Maybe even the whole line.

Thanks for all the welcomes!
I can't post pictures from work, but I posted some pictures of my collection on seibertron.com not so long ago: Energon Pub • View topic - Call of the Primatives (and Classics) Yeah I like the SW Transformers - particularly the jedi starfighter molds, and commander cody's a good one too. I'm keeping an eye out for Yoda (not expecting him in the UK too soon though!). |
