The Trailer was in Captain America 2.. (this thread will become filled with Spoilers after May 1st...)

I have to admit I don't know what to think of the Goblin is it Green Goblin or Hob Goblin. Also it has been announced this will lead to as many a 3 more movies Sinister 6, Amazing Spiderman 3, and possibly Venom. As for the Rhino I hate it it looks like an oversized metal Rhino robot not a big guy in a suite

What, the movie?

I thought it was a pretty good movie and great follow-up to the first ASM. I'm really looking forward to ASM3/Sinister Six now. Even the Rhino mech suit didn't bother me as much as I thought it would.

My only WTF moment came with the mid-credits scene. Cross-promotional trailers are one thing, but that?

Yeah I thought it was going introduce the Sinister Six and then boom Mystique... It'll be confusing people with potential Spiderman/X-Men Crossover

As for Amazing Spiderman it was an outstanding movie. I have to say Chris Cooper was a nice choice for Norman Osborn, and Felicity Jones - Felicia Hardy Amazing Spiderman 3 is going to have some Elements to build upon... I even Blurted "You Have to be Joking" when the movie stopped Mid fight...

Spider-Man & X-Men Movies Will NOT Cross Over Despite Post-Credits Teaser! | PerezHilton.com

Normally I wouldn't read anything Perez Hilton has to say but this is Important for this. But this is why Marvel needs control of all their stuff

As I said in the other thread, Fox had nothing to do with the decision to put that clip in the film's credits. But Perez's claim sounds plausible enough, as I highly doubt Sony and Fox are anywhere close to wanting a crossover between Spider-Man and the X-Men.

It was just a very odd place to put a different companies movie Teaser particularly when X-Men had a Trailer in truth the Trailers were nearly the same as Captain America except Spiderman was not one of them.

Spoiler Questions....

We all kinda knew Gwen would meet her fate, but were you really ready for it? I know I could feel the tears building for some of us Spider fans this is the second time she died. It does pave the way for MJ but for us older fans theres a soft spot for Gwen Stacy. Do you think they will have Emma Stone make spotty appearences as Gwen's ghost as Peter gets involved with MJ?

How long before we see Felicia become the Black Cat?

I knew it was coming, but I was still a little sad when it happened (especially after the one or two fake-outs leading up to it). This is technically the third time I've seen her die in Spider-Man media, too. I was kind of surprised to see it happen in ASM2 because I figured it would happen in ASM3. But after I thought about it a bit more, it made more sense to do it in this film instead of waiting until part 3.

Gwen's ghost may happen, since Captain Stacey's ghost was in this film. TBH, I don't see them having MJ in this series at all. IIRC, Andrew Garfield only signed on for 3 films and 2 are in the can, so there wouldn't be much build-up to their relationship unless they jump ahead a few years between films.

I do think that the love interest/flirt for ASM3 will probably be Felicia Hardy/Black Cat. Peter's going to need a super hero ally, if he's got to take on the Sinister Six next.

I heard them call her Felicia but is she supposed to be Felicia Hardy? I didn't know that for sure.

Also, there just wasn't time in the movie to throw in the Goblin like they did. They clearly only did it because they wanted to kill Gwen and decided that Electro couldn't be the one to do that. It was definitely sad even though I knew it was 99.999999% going to happen in the movie. For sure knew she was dead once she was on her way to the airport. I feel like Peter telling her that he would come with her overseas (not that easy to get a visa Pete) basically told the audience she was going to die if they were unaware before. They jumped it five months in the epilogue and had him quit for a while so they didn't have to waste time on that in the next film.

I'll paste my thoughts here that I wrote shortly after seeing it,

I thought the movie was pretty weak in areas but it had some good things going for it. All the stuff with Peter and Gwen worked as well as the few emotional notes with Peter and his family. The action looks good and Spider-Man is being Spider-Man. He's fun and playful but does his job and it took me back to when I was a kid wishing I could web sling. I think all the stuff with Peter's parents was interesting and I'm sure we will get more of that.

Beyond that it's just confusing. The score especially is baffling at points and the plot hardly adds up. That "Goblin" is just terrible. No no no no no. I don't mind it being Harry and skipping Norman because then you don't have to look out for him having an affair with Gwen (j/K) but the character design was terrible. They had too many things where it was just "oh, we've already got that thing you might need over here so we don't have to waste time setting it up". They insert a computer voice to give exposition whenever they feel like it even though it make zero sense. It was lazy writing on the broad strokes of the story while they got all the small character driven stuff right. Not sure how that happens but I'm guessing a lot of it has to

Poor Gwen. I knew she was a goner for sure when she was going to leave for London, especially obvious when Peter says he will just go with her. Even though I knew it had to be coming the moment at the end where Peter fails to save Gwen hits hard. I guess that's why they give us Spider-kid to lift our spirits.

I will also say that the marketing on this movie is terrible. Those big posters with Goblin, Electro, and Rhino in time square should have been saved for the next movie. They turned people off fearing that the movie would be too crowded. Turns out it was a bit crowded, but not in the way we expected it to be. They should have just focused on Electro in the marketing and not promoted Goblin or Rhino. I was expecting the movie to be a lot worse that it was because of all that. I'm not saying I think it was a good movie but better than my expectation. I'll wait a bit to decide if I liked it enough to watch again.

They never say her last name in the movie, but it would be a perfect cover for a cat burglar.

I don't think he was "throw in" all that much. Sure, if you only consider Green Goblin to be the green-skinned, purple-wearing, glider-riding psychopath. If, however, you look at Gobby as that guy and Harry, then I think they did a great job at building up the character.

The only one of the three villains that I felt got short-changed was Rhino.

Rhino gets the funny Spidey fight and the serious fight at the beginning and end respectfully.

True, but no backstory/build-up or motivation of any kind. He basically sounded and acted like a stereotypical thug for the Russian mafiya. An over-the-top one at that, although that's more due to Giamatti's portrayal than anything.

Overall it was cool, I did read about the marketing cross over before they even showed the movie so knew that was going to happen. It was a bit last minute just cause a lot of the actual Marvel movies do it, but unfortunately we know Spider-Man and the X-Men doesn't have the "flair" for the endings so yeah:P I'm glad Rhino was very short in the movie, and they didn't mash so much villains like they did with SM3.

The only one of the three villains that I felt got short-changed was Rhino.

Harry was mostly one-note and they rushed everything about him. The movie just hands all the characters the answers as soon as they think to ask the question. They just don't have time to dedicate to anything other than Peter/Gwen and part of that it having to fit in all the Goblin stuff. They needed an evil and derranged freak to kill Gwen so Oscorp just happened to have all the things he would need to goblin him up in 30 minutes or less. I don't mind them setting up the tech for Vulture and some others to use in the next film as that saves time but they will still need to introduce them all. Harry's story should have ended this movie with him finding the venom. He undergoes a major physical transformation in no time flat and then magically knows how the exo-suit and glider work I'm about 10 seconds? No difficulties using any of the gadgets or weapons, he's just a deadly killer with zero training. Had they set up him finding the armory and playing around with stuff days or weeks earlier the it could have worked.

Of course, all this disregards the fact that his goblin is basically a second personality. The movie avoids saying if it's Harry or if it's a mental break so now you have Harry that was pissed spider-man wouldn't give up that blood but getting the venom is basically the same thing for him so why is he so ticked at the city if all he wanted was to survive?

Rhino is best as a minor character working for someone else. He didn't need much set up or screen time and it seems nearly everyone hated the suit so less was probably more.

I'm sure you're aware, but that's how Norman was originally written at first. His Goblin persona was separate and Norman wouldn't remember anything he did as the Green Goblin. Later on, though, Norman and the Goblin became one - a wholly complete and criminally insane mind.

As you yourself said, ASM2 have not explicitly stated which direction they're going to go with Harry's Goblin. So in my mind it is not a given fact at all. Merely an assumption based on speculation.

I didn't get that impression with ASM2's Harry. It seems to me when he was at Ravencroft, Harry is aware of the changes wrought by the venom but dismisses them when asked about it. It remains to be seen if the venom caused a complete psychotic breakdown or if it only fractured his personality. Regardless, he seems far more intent on exacting revenge on Peter than worrying about his health.

And I don't think Harry gave a crap about New York, one way or the other. Harry was pissed off at Peter and the executive board at Oscorp because he felt betrayed by both of them. Remember, when Goblin showed up at the end, he didn't try to finish destroying the power grid or at least undo the patch-job Peter and Gwen had done. Goblin went straight after Peter.

Electro was the one who was pissed off at the City (as well as Oscorp and Spider-Man).

But I definitely agree that Harry's sudden mastery of all the Goblin tech did seem rushed - especially with regard to the Glider and Pumpkin Bombs. We could argue that one of the side effects of the venom is that it boosted Harry's intelligence to genius levels, since the Goblin serum has been known to do that in previous Spider-Man media (besides making Norman nuttier than a Planters' factory).

I'm not saying it was a bad thing, necessarily (especially with the suit and the direction Webb gave to Giamatti on the portrayal of Aleksei) - just that of the three villains portrayed in ASM2, Rhino had the least amount of build-up (or even explanation). At least Harry got some backstory and pathos, even if it was rushed.

Willim DeFao did it spot on it wasn't until Harry overdosed that he went nuts and Goblin took over
