All of the Marvel movies that have been released recently have had their own line, I know that Spider-man is going to be getting one but I'm curious as to whether or not it'll have a comic series.

I sure hope it does as there are some spider-man villains I would love to get my hands on in 3.75 inch scale.

What are your thoughts on this, and does anyone have some info on it?

I know it didn't but Spider-man is, I read something about it. I wish First Class got a line. Origins did! There should also be an Avengers line. If it's anything to go by Captain America line was around here for a couple of months before the movie was actually released, so hopefully we'll see the same with these lines.

There are some good villians in the Spiderman toy line that's out now.
Lizard, Rhino, Carnage, Venom, Doc Ock (just kidding, see Marvel Legends Showdown Doc Ock), and Shocker.
Im sure there will be a comic series as it seems every other toy line had that. We'll probably see Vulture, Mysterio and the other neglected villians either in this toy line or a future MU wave.

Kraven, for instance.

I can't get my hands on any of them over here in the UK. They're all ridiculously expensive. I find Carnage online and he has a really high shipping price and every other one seems to have him for sale at £30 which is annoying. All I see in stores is Spider-man on his Deep Sea or Arctic Adventure or something stupid like that, no villains. I bought the only Venom I found! That's why I'm hoping that they do this release! I want my Spidey Villain collection to be complete!

Let me know which Spiderman line villians youll looking for and ill give them to you for cost and shipping. It'd be probably about 12-13 per figure, a bunch of other people here would hook you up also im sure.

That Kraven does look Fantastic thats in one of the upcoming waves.

Unfortunately then it will only be the villains in the movie. I suspect they will be doing it like the Thor movie figures & no comic line.
So then Lizard will be in it for sure.
I would hope they make a Gwen Stacy but that seems unlikely.
They said they are making a Peter Parker in suit so that could be the movie line or MU.

I heard from the Hasbro panel at comiccon that they had plans for a comic series, because it was mentioned they might do a FF-suit Spidey with paper bag mask. I can't remember where I read this though.

Spider-man has more of a fanbase though so I reckon if they're smart they'll add a comic series to it! I can't see the Avengers getting a comic series...

Avengers definitely not, but Spidey is a kids favorite. There has been enough presence of Spidey on TV that kids will recognize a good deal of the villains in a comic series.

That one is definitely going in MU.

Well if they do make a comic series I assume it will have villains not yet made. Or I hope it will.

Vulture

Oooh Black Cat would be awesome! I don't actually have any female characters in my collection yet...

I also hope they stick Demogoblin in there. I like the goblins a lot! Apparently Proto-goblin is going to be in the film. Whether he looks like the red thing I've found when googling what the hell he is etc or actually transforms in the movie is a different matter....

A Spiderman Comic series has too much potential to take all my money. If hasbro doesnt do it (im sure they will) then they're crazy.

Just read that there will be characters from the film and the comics

"In addition to the figure featured at Comic-Con, next year's Amazing Spider-Man toy line will offer characters from the film and from the comic books, as well as roleplay gear such as web shooters."

So there should be a comic line.

How long have you been collecting?

Amazingly (probably annoyingly for you), I would say the Spider-Man line is the one line where I've been able to get every figure at UK retail. TRU seems particuarly good at stocking them, though places like the Entertainer seem to get them a bit later.

I guess you've missed the boat on figures like Rhino (Doc Ock is no great loss), and I've only ever seen one Carnage (which I snagged obviously!). No sign of Lizard and Scorpion yet, but I reckon given they've only just started showing up in the US, that we should get them soon enough.

Anyway, welcome! Good to see another UK'er on the site.

I really want to see Kingpin and Sandman in the new line.

the thought of a comic series for this movie has made me giddy. Spiderman has a MASSIVE rogues gallery so I hope for something good out of this. maybe a jonah jameson figure, so everytime you go up to your display shelf he looks like hes pissed at you.

Same here.

I've bought nothing from the Thor line and only bought three of that movie version of Cap for his shields for my three comic versions of him.
