Hi, folks! New member here. Recently there's been some memories resurfacing from my childhood, featuring a series of action figures that I just can't find anywhere. And it drives me mad. I have no idea what they were called, but I think I can describe them fairly well, and I'm hoping someone here can assist me in identifying them. It's from somewhere in the early- or mid-90s. The figures themselves were rather small, probably somewhere between 2 and 3 inches, most of them resembling robots or mechanical animals. They usually had moving parts (either arms and legs, or even arms, torso and wings, etc.), which I think is rather unusual for such small toys. They probably weren't the cheapest toys, and I think they were sold both individually and in packs of three. I vaguely remember the line of toys split into two different factions, and I'm pretty sure one was more sinister-looking than the other. They all had a symbol representing their faction, usually on the chest, and one of them resembled the silhouette of a bull's head. I remember some specific ones too, if that will help: One that actually looked quite a bit like Pinsir (you know, the Pokémon), in black armor and with spikes on the shoulders; and one with wings, like a mechanical flying insect, painted in white and blue. I know I wasn't the only kid in the neighbourhood who had these, and I grew up on a fairly remote island in the Arctic, ergo they can't have been very rare. Hope someone here can help me identify these toys! |

My initial thought is 'Battle Beasts,' but that line was from the 80s, and didn't include the level of articulation you're describing.
Whatever this is, it sounds really cool. Hope you find your answer, friend! |

those have got to be battle beast. there is a dog with black armor but he doesn't have spikes on the shoulders. maybe laser beast which is still part of the battle beast line...

Thanks for the replies!
I looked into Battle Beasts, and that's not it. It's pretty close, though, but the ones I recall were less focused on animals and mostly looked like robots. I think they were more detailed too, viewed through my child's eyes at least. If anyone knows of some action figure series similar to Battle Beasts, please share your thoughts. I'm dying to start collecting these, if they still exist. ![]() |

Yes, that's it! Oh my god, I'm having the most insane nostalgia trip right now!
I had no idea they were Micro Machines. I'm guessing they're by no means rare, and there seems to be quite a bit of'em on ebay. Time to start collecting! |

Nice work bmorr. I'm not too familiar with the line myself. Time to look it up.

Z Bots were so rad. Never had any myself, but my buddy had a ton of them, and we'd just litter the playroom with our battles.

![]() After this, I even discovered that a ton of half-remembered toys I grew up with were actually Micro Machines. I'm practically bathing in nostalgia today. |
